Vehicle Detail
I have owned five Porsches and this 1986 944 Turbo was my favorite. Unfortunately, it got rear-ended in a parking lot (17-year-old in a Toyota SUV and texting) and the insurance company declared it totaled. As it stands, the car starts right and runs very well. A new Turbo was installed in 2012 and I put in a new battery this week. It has a go-fast chip and customized pedals. The odometer shows at 59K but it’s closer to 70K as the trip meter ceased working two years ago. I put an average of 300 miles a month on it and until it was rear-ended, I drove it every weekend. I have repair estimates from a reputable shop that say the car could be completely fixed for less than $6,576.63, and I will include this with the car or I can fax it you. The damage done to the rear was almost entirely cosmetic. The rear spoiler is intact but all the rear lights will need to be replaced. Spare tire included. Sun roof and everything else work perfectly. Trunk and doors are tight; there is a small crack on the dashboard (like all Porsches of that age) but the leather is not split, and the interior is in very good condition. The windshield is new. It was cracked when the new turbo was installed and replaced locally. I have all the documentation. There is a small oil leak that is unrelated to the accident. I’m told that the gasket for the oil pan needs to be replaced. The car is now listed as having a salvage title but will include the original title. You can restore this car, or part it out. I’d restore it if I had the money, but unfortunately I don’t right now. Email me with any question.
