Vehicle Detail
This is my 1996 Grand Sport Corvette. It is #961 out of 1000 C4 Grand Sports ever made. I fell in love with the Grand Sport while playing Grand Tourismo 2 and wanted one ever since. Two years ago I came across this one. Compared to most Grand Sports, this one has higher mileage so it was more affordable than most. I jumped on the opportunity and have really enjoyed driving it for the last few years. What's it like to drive? The 330 hp LT4 is an impressive engine - very smooth with a lot of torque at lower rpms. It makes it very easy to drive. Combined with the six speed transmission, gas mileage is pretty good. Acceleration is smooth. Turn in is quick, as the C4's have shorter wheel bases than the newer C5's, C6's and C7's. This car is one of only a small handful that had the F45 suspension option (selective real time dampening system.) The interior is pretty quiet while driving down the road and visually it still looks modern (unlike the earlier C4's.) The exhaust note is aggressive, but comfortable. No drone. I think most people would be really impressed with the ride, especially considering this car is twenty years old now. It sure doesn't feel like it. The only mods on the car are the stainless Corsa exhaust (cat-back only), shift boot, armrest cover and chassis braces that run along either side of the car. I still have the factory exhaust if you are interested and the chassis braces can be removed, though they sure make the car feel solid on the road. The paint is in really good condition. There are small chips here and there and you can see where the front bumper has been flexed a few times creating some hairline cracks in the paint. The interior is nice, headliner is perfect, though the center console is showing its age with scuffs and scratches. Most of the weatherstripping is in really good condition but there are a few places where it is split or where a seam has separated. The Khumo tires are about a year and a half old and only have ~500 miles on them. Everything works as it should - AC, keyless entry, electronic seat adjustments, pop up headlights, etc. No oil or water leaks. No check engine light. Clutch is nice. The motor sounds fantastic. It shifts great. I can find no evidence of any accidents when under the vehicle. Everything is straight and rust free. I put new brakes and rotors on it shortly after I bought the car. I only drive it on weekends or the occasional Friday so they don't have a lot of miles on them. I also replaced longer wear parts as preventative maintenance - wheel bearings, thermostat, u-joints, ball joints and tie rod ends as I intended to keep the car for a long time and figured they could stand to be replaced at this mileage. The registration is good until October, so you are good to go. Just buy this thing and drive it. The only reason I am selling is because I added another car to the collection and need to make room. If I had the space, I'd keep it.On Mar-16-16 at 10:07:54 PDT, seller added the following information: I recorded a video for those who want to get a better idea of what it's like:https://youtu.be/efOH_ftXUjYOn Mar-19-16 at 22:24:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Since people have asked, I have the laminated window sticker and build sheet, original brochure and bunch of receipts from myself and the previous owner too. I have the title in hand. It's in my name and is a clean title.
