Vehicle Detail
Here we have a great truck for a donor chassis or rebuild for farm or off road use, etc. It is a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad-cab SLT long bed 4X4 with the 5.9 Liter High Output Cummins and a rare 6-Spd manual trans. This was only offered with the High output engine in 2002 and is very hard to find. As you can see the truck has damage on the right side bed and cab area. The insurance company decided that it was not repairable to be put back on the road so they gave it a NON-REPAIRABLE salvage status. This means that it can not be rebuilt in most states although some states like Kentucky do allow them to be rebuilt. Please check on this in your state before bidding so there won't be any surprises later. The truck runs and drives fine and starts immediately with a turn of the key. It has had the fuel system upgraded with an air dog brand pusher pump and a complete fuel line up grade along with a gauge on the dash to monitor the fuel pressure. This upgrade prevents the lift pump that was installed by Dodge on the side of the block from failing and starving the fuel injection pump. That was one of the few failures that these great engines had so that problem has been eliminated. This is also a later 2002 5.9 Liter block that was cast with thicker walls than 98-01 engines so they don't have the failures with cracking like some of the earlier Code 53 castings had. It is an engine that is very hard to wear out in a normal person's lifetime as long as it is maintained properly. The truck was in very good condition before the wreck and is rust free underneath since it came out of Virginia where they have mild Winters. It would make a great clean donor chassis to put under a first gen dodge 1/2 ton or and older 60's-70's crew-cab, etc. We have a 1991 Dodge Ram 150 crew-cab short bed 4X4 on our website at teddavisautosales.com that is begging to be used for this swap so there is an option for any potential bidders out there that would like to make a very unique truck from this that would be worth a lot of money when finished. Once again the truck runs and drives great. It is clean inside and out and underneath as well. It has no damage to the drive train or the frame and no leaks. The dash top was busted up due to the sun which is common on these trucks so we removed it.The rest of the interior is very nice except for a small tear on the driver seat. This truck is very repairable and is worth another cab & bed, etc but keep in mind the title is Non-Repairable so in my opinion it is a better candidate for a drivetrain swap to another special truck and will be very rare with the 6-spd. manual trans. Please look at the 24 pictures which will enlarge when you mouse over them and e-mail with any questions and I will reply as quickly as possible. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Ted Davis
