Vehicle Description Just arrived is this very solid example of the ultra-collectible W113 Chassis SL convertible from Mercedes-Benz, a 1969 280 SL "Pagoda" in fair condition cosmetically and very good condition mechanically. While this one will not be kept behind velvet ropes at the Mercedes-Benz museum, it is one of the last good "drivers" weve seen in a while, and would make an excellent candidate for restoration or casual usage while it appreciates in value. It is entirely complete and mostly original. The interior is original with the exception of the radio and seat covers, and the exterior was painted about 10 years ago with a lesser quality refinishing. The soft top is in very good condition, and an original hard top - a bit rough - is still with the car. It appears to have matching numbers, and is equipped with the desirable automatic transmission. This was a driver used by an affluent German winter resident, and he prepared the car to very mechanically reliable for himself and his wife - it has a new transmission, new fuel pump, new valve cover gasket, plugs, and wires, and runs extremely well. The underneath has had all new floor pans professionally welded in by a Mercedes-Benz specialist restoration shop (see photos), and the body is in very solid condition with only minimal corrosion.
