Amazing 1966 VW Bus Arizona Rust Free Beautiful Condition Over the last 30+ years that I have been in this industry, I personally have restored many air-cooled vehicles. Out of all of those cars that I have had the pleasure of working on, this one definitely ranks in the top for being the most fun. A lot of cars come and go through my shop, but every once in a while a gem comes through and I have to get my hands on it. This is that gem. This bus is ready to hit the road and be enjoyed for the next 50 years. Please check the photos and the videos that are posted below and feel free to contact me at anytime. 520-247-0092. We are known for offering quality vehicles. The full interior was gutted to just a shell. The cab area was sanded and painted. New rubber mats were installed, along with new upholstery. Seat frames were sandblasted and painted. We put in a new steering wheel, horn button, kick panels, fuse box, and we have cleaned up all of the wiring. Everything works as it should, even the dome light. As you can see the seats are firm, and has the smell of a brand new car. Also included is the wire basket cup holder. This photo shows the attention to detail on this vehicle. It shows as new on the interior. Again, this is another shot of the attention to detail on the interior of this bus. This photo shows the full new floor pan that was installed the correct way. It had small rust spots on each side due to age of the window rubbers. This was the only rust on the bus, and it has totally been eliminated. I could have simply put small patch panels in, but that was not the correct way to fix the issue, putting an entire new floor pan was the only way to do it. Brand new floor mats were installed as well. This photo shows the steering column, emergency brake handle, shifter and head light buckets that were all stripped and refinished in the factory color. Again, passengers side fully detailed. Extremely clean. All of the upholstery was made in the USA. It matches the factory upholstery perfectly. The rear mat is also brand new. All panels are all brand new. Arm rests are all in place. It is absolutely amazing. This area had light surface rust, more of a orange rust color, but no pits. While the bus was gutted, we removed and sanded it, then proceeded to paint the floor. The underside of the mat is in perfect condition. This photo shows a new headliner as well as the original seats and the rear seat kick panel in place. Another beautiful shot of the headliner. Good shot of the rare walk-through. All wheels have been sand blasted, painted, and equipped with new tires, including the spare. The factory jack socket and lug wrench, all restored and in place. As well has a custom rear cargo mat has all been sewn in for sound deadening. Even the back seat trim molding has been repaint in the factory color. I struggled with wanting to re-paint the bus, which was originally repainted in the late 80's. The bus does shows the original paint starting to come through, which was way to cool for me to repaint. Everyone I talked to tried to talk me into repainting the bus, but I went with my gut and decided not too. Instead, while the bus was gutted, I 1500 grit wet sanded the entire bus and buffed it. As you can see it really looks amazing. This photo shows all new window rubber, as well as the sand blasted and painted wheels that come with brand new hub caps. We also refinished the bumpers on the bus. As you can see the wheel wells and the rear air louvers are in pristine condition. There has never been any modifications on this body at all. This picture shows the extremely straight body that this bus has. It is in awesome shape. This photo shows that when the doors were stripped to nothing, we reassembled them with all new felts and seals. When you close the doors, they are solid and rattle free. Underneath the emblem there is an extremely small dent. .Damn, it's a good looking bus!Another random inside shot. All pop-out seals have been replaced and are extremely tight. The chrome is perfect on all of the pop out latches. What do you say? It is just awesome! The engine is completely freshened up. The fuel tank was flushed, stripped, and painted. A full new exhaust system that was installed while the engine was being freshened up. Also while the engine was out, we removed the tranny and repaired it as it was popping out of reverse gear. All new seals and gaskets were replaced. We also did a complete brake job including all new rubber hoses, new wheel cylinders, new brake shoes, and new master cylinder. All of it was detailed, painted, and works and looks fantastic. This photo shows the new floor pan that I installed. It has since been fully detailed and will be undercoated. I just wanted to show you this before undercoating. The front end is super tight and drives wonderfully. While we were in there we installed all new shift bushings. Engine was gone through, resealed, rebuilt cylinder heads, all new exhaust system. It purrs like a kitten, and doesn't drop a single drip of oil. Take a tour of Chirco with Joe.
