Up for sale is my 1976 Chevette, V8, automatic.This car was built in 1981 by Hooker Headers R&D Department and Featured in Hot Rod Magazine's November 1982 issue. The Magazine comes with car Hooker Headers used the car to develop V6 engine swap kits for Chevettes. They made the headers and engine mounts, as well as the prototype Fiberglass Cowl Hood. Originally built with a Buick V6 and a 4-speed (now V8), and still wears the original paint applied in 1981 and it is showing its age with some fading and checking, body is very solid The current engine is a 350 with 462 Camel hump heads, edelbrock intake, duntov solid lifter cam, Q-Jet Carb, HEI ignition. Aluminum Radiator with electric fan, 10 gal.Fuel Cell, TH350 Trans W/3000 Stall converter, 10 bolt Posi Rear end with 3.90 gears, steel Subframe structure built by Hooker Headers, 13" M/T Slicks No rust, glass is good, interior is good. Runs and drives good. Been run at the 1/8 Mile drags at Irwindale with a different engine over the last few years. The motor runs strong, very good oil pressure and always runs cool. the transmission has a little leak at the flexible filler tube but I have ordered a new lokar filler tube and dip stick and will be installed by the end of auction. The car comes with a clear California title in my name and registered under planned non operation. It will not pass emissions test in California with the V8 conversion, 1975 is the cut off year. last registered in 1992. it would be best if the car was sold out of California so it could be used on the street legally.IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEEDBACK YOU MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BID. On Feb-13-15 at 08:07:14 PST, seller added the following information: The Chevette runs down the road great. front end is tight, headlights,tail lights,turn signals all work. there is no rust at all on the car. interior is clean and complete but there is no back seat. rear section of interior is finished in carpet. fuel cell is located under rear hatch. The car is a blast to drive and is a good little hot rod for no much $$$$$.
