Purchased this car from the owner who left it garaged for 7+ years back in 2010. Before it was given to my father to drive and enjoy it was taken to Phil's Service in Clifton for a complete run through mechanically. Addressing a tune-up, replacing fluids, new radiator, water-pump and thermostat and even fixing the vacuum line system door locks. European bits where obtained and installed to give her a unique look. The updated headlights, bumper, and AMG air dam really set this W116 chassis benz apart. The car was part of a 5 vehicle fleet and only has 71K on the odometer. In 2011 I gave the car to my father for Father's Day and it has been garaged since, driving it periodically for the last 4 years here and there, only putting on about 2,500 miles on it. Purchased with 63,000 and now with 71,932 the car is a perfect candidate for restoration. Installed an alpine headunit with bluetooth and ipod integration (in glovebox) along with a perfectly working automatic climate control system. The car is solid, dependable, and a great cruiser. My parents are getting ready to downsize and the car unfortunately needs to find a new home, and looking for someone to continue taking care of this gorgeous W116 chassis Benz. It will need the following based on my knowledge of vehicle restorations (completed 4 cars to date) - new tires - A/C system charged or fixed - (Body Work) Rocker Panels need to be fixed/replaced – overall there is rust on the rockers and we were planning to fix it if we were keeping her, the paint is all original but again its a great 20 footer car and this will need to be addressed eventually. The car was serviced since purchase at Phil's Service in Clifton, NJ, a shop that has been working on Mercedes since 1975 and taken care of well. It is currently parked there if you want to take a gander and see for yourself. All photos were taken in the fall of this year in Upstate NY with no photoshop at all. Wishing this car a good home, its an amazingly quiet, solid ride. The car is being relisted and tons of interest wrapped around the paint condition and running quality. Last weekend in the the 13 degree weather in NJ I attached a Go Pro to my BMW and crafted a video to showcase not only the car at COLD START but also running with a unique look on the roads, interior instruments, hvac, and then engine running.
