Up for sale is my 1969 BMW 2002/ 1600-2 I am the second owner and it has been in southern California since new. bought new at Hoffman Motors Los Angeles CA. the car is an original survivor. the paint is mostly original and showing some thin areas like on the edges of trunk and some other areas. the hood, right front fender and drivers door have been repainted long ago.. no signs of any accidents. the body is in great condition with the exception of several small door ding type dings. very minimal surface rust in the trunk under the spare tire (look at pictures).the motor is rebuilt with low miles, not original block, transmission was rebuilt and a new clutch about 10k miles ago.the engine compartment was painted and very well detailed when the motor was out. it has power disc brakes and the brakes were done recently. new exhaust system, fresh tires, (The car comes with the original 13"rims and the original jack ) it runs super strong and handles like a go kart, goes down the road straight and feels very tight. The interior could use a little work like seats recovered and a carpet kit. dash has some cracks but has a new correct dash cover and floor mats. headliner looks good. all lights, heater,defroster,wipers work as they should. the speedometer works but the odometer quit at 100.722 back in 2012, this is what the service records show. the fuel gauge and temp gauge work but are not accurate.The car still retains its original California blue license plates from late 1969. It comes with the original window sticker, owners manual and repair receipts going back many years. underneath the car looks good,very solid California car. It is extremely dependable and always starts instantly. This little BMW is a blast to drive. runs excellent, shifts smooth up or down and stops on a dime. This is a good ol original car that can be driven and enjoyed as is or do an easy restoration. I like it just as is!
