Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1962 Ford Galaxie, factory G code, 406 tri power 4 speed car. vin. 2E63G165471,vin # on trim tag matches the numbers stamped on the right front frame rail. trim tag shows body style 65A, color VM, TRIM 39, date 24-A, axle 5, trans,5. The car was painted black back in the early 1980s and still looks very presentable but does have a few minor blemishes, I would rate the body, paint, and trim an 8 out of 10, 10 being the best. the floors have had a couple small repairs done years ago nothing major at all. rocker panels and body mounts look solid. All the running gear was rebuilt in 2000.with less than 1k miles. The previous owner/engine builder passed away several years ago so I dont have all the specs on the motor.from what I was told the block is a 1973 390 industrial block, casting shows its a 105 one of the best blocks to bore. it was bored to 406 cu.in with all the trick internals, it has large tube headers, tri power, mallory ignition, mildon 7qt oil pan etc, etc. I was told it is right around 600 HP. and it feels every bit of that. it runs EXTREMELY strong and always runs cool and oil pressure runs from 60 lbs to 80 lbs when warm. the 4 speed trans was rebuilt at the same time as the motor and they both have less than 1,000 miles on them.it has a positraction rear end with what I believe are 3.90 or 4.11 gears. the interior was done in 2000 and in very good condition.all the lights, whipers, speedometer, gas gauge all work. heater is hooked up but the fan blower does not come on.the emergancy brake is not working and will need a new cable on the drivers side. it has manual steering and power brakes have been added, stiil 4 wheel drum brakes. The car is very dependable, always starts instantly hot or cold. it goes down the road straight and feels tight. it always draws a crowd at every car show and is a blast to drive. it is a good driver quality weekend cruiser/weekend warrior. I have discribed it the best I can, but please feel free to ask any questions . it has a clear California title in my name and registered until Feb 2015. the yellow 1962 license plates are for show only and will come with the car and will come with the new style Ca. plates that assigned to it.for any further info call 949-429-5382. IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEEDBACK YOU MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BID. I reserve the right to cancel any zero feedback bids. all shipping is up to buyer but I will do all I can on my end to make sure its loaded safe and sound. On Aug-14-14 at 21:06:08 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several people ask about the trim tag. it was painted over many years ago and then was sanded to expose the info. it is all still visible in person but a little hard to read in the pictures. it reads body 65A color VM. trim 39 date 24-A axle 5 trans 5. you can google 1962 Ford trim tag and it will decode for you. also the car runs extremely strong. I have had several 496- 502 big block chevy,s and 426 wedge cars and this ol Ford would Spank all of them.
