Gold Glow paint, engine and upholstery. I believe we are the second owners. Bought wagon from a guy in Burlingame, near San Francisco, California in 1995. He had the dealer put in a special Ford transmission for towing a boat. Which he never did, as he threw out his back. Car has about 91k miles which is ok for 40 years, averaging under 2,500 per year. We had it shipped back east about 15 years ago. Always kept in a dry de-humidified garage. Never driven in snow or salt roads. Never in rain. Serviced every 3,000 miles oil, filters and lube. Surprisingly fast with the 400 cu inch V8 giving it a smooth ride. Always starts, Had the distributer changed over to electronic ignition as the points on these Fords needed changing a lot. "...converting your car from a points-and-condenser ignition system to a more modern magnetic-impulse electronic system eliminates the need to replace and set points and replace condensers on a routine basis. More importantly, an electronic ignition doubles the amount of spark energy at the sparkplug for quicker starts, more power, and fewer emissions." This is not a trailer queen and shows light normal usage: there are imperfections: a ding here or there, a repaired separation in the original upholstery. AC blows cold, heater works, radio also. Rear window sticks, we stopped powering it up and down years ago.. There are two repairs to original vinyl siding. Overall a 90+ car. Could be driven across the country. Perfect for prop or for movie rental. Hard to find original and in great shape as not many of these were saved, like saving a bus or an ice cream truck from the day. From Wikipedia: "The Ford Country Squire is a full-size station wagon was built by the Ford Motor Company in the United States from 1950 until 1991, encompassing seven model generations. It was the premium station wagon model in Ford's full-size car range throughout this period. The Country Squire was initially built as a full "woodie". After the mid-1950s the rear body was composed of fiberglass covered by a vinyl appliqué printed to simulate wood. Later versions featured an all-steel body and are best remembered for featuring body sides and a tailgate covered by simulated wood trim and panels, however the Country Squire could be purchased without them. Prior to 1974, full-size Ford station wagon models without simulated wood trim were marketed as the Ranch Wagon, Del Rio, Parklane and Country Sedan. Subsequently, all full-size Ford wagons were marketed under the Ford LTD name, including the LTD Country Squire. The Country Squire was based on the Custom Deluxe series in 1950 & 1951, the Crestline from 1952 to 1954, the Fairlane from 1955 to 1958, the Galaxie from 1959 to 1966, and the LTD/LTD Crown Victoria from 1967 to 1991. Due to declining sales, Ford elected to exit the full-size station wagon market after 1991."Please ask questions before bidding. Hope it goes to a good home.
