Vehicle Detail
No reserve auction... Description: Another of my projects that I have to sell since we've downsized homes & shops. The 1959 El Camino has been in Idaho & eastern Oregon (the dry part) for decades. It's mostly been inside since I've owned it, but without the shop, it's been outside for several months. Title - We have a clear title. Changes: The front a-arms have been cut off with the idea of grafting a complete Corvette front end onto the frame stubs. I don't have the arms. Body - The previous owner had started working the body over...still a few spots of rusted areas; wheel well lips, driver's floor board (tiny spot), door sills have patch covers...couple body patch panels included...windshield is out & gone...back glass is good (not sealed in place)...original body color is red & interior moldings were red too...most of the panels are straight, but the hood is from a different vehicle...tailgate inner panel has a touch of rust out, but the bed floor & the area beneath the bed are really solid... Tailgate got wrinkled during our recent move...can be saved. Grille has been tweaked. Floor pans are pretty good, with exception of driver's floor where it has a small rust out. Door sills have steel covers, so there is probably some rust through underneath. Glass - I have the back glass & the vent windows. The windshield & both door windows got broken in our move. Stainless trim - It appears that most of the exterior trim is there, but I haven't inventoried it. Much of it will have to be restored due to dings & extra holes that were drilled for bed covers. Rear axle - Looks very stock...air shocks Dash area - Speedometer, 3 gauges, clock & their respective pods are there. Gas tank - It's still in place. Undercoating - Underneath has most of the original dealer applied undercoating, which was a very normal thing to have done in this region. Bumpers - Front & rear are there & the little bumperettes too. Nuts, bolts & miscellaneous - trim clips, screws, nuts & bolts... Windshield & back glass rubbers - 2 replacement rubbers included... Door weather stripping - A roll of it is included. Seat - Looks like the original bench seat. Frame - Not aware of any rust problems. Radiator support - It's still in place ...radiator is out. Headlights & Taillights - One taillight lens is cracked, one of the old T3 lamps is bad for certain...headlamp surrounds have dings. Tailgate emblem - It is there , but the plastic insert is cracked & partially missing. Hinges - Doors, hood & tailgate all open & close. Photos - I have close to 100 photos, so tell me what I can send to you & I will. Shipping - I'd prefer that you coordinate your own shipping. I will help move it around with a forklift, but I don't have the time to deliver it. Getting it onto a trailer shouldn't be much of an effort. Storage - I can keep it here until you make arrangements to get it. I'd like it to be gone by the end of August.
