Vehicle Detail
This is a 1991 Honda Accord LX 4-door sedan. It is automatic transmission with 164700 miles on it. It has the common condition for these vehicles of damaged clear coat in some areas (roof is the worst area). It is brown with tan interior except for two replaced areas. The hood has been replaced (it is dark blue) and the passenger side front quarter panel has been replaced (light beige). There are a couple of rust spots near the rear tire wells. At the moment it needs a capacitor/resistor replaced on the TCU (transmission control unit). If someone is handy this can be done for about $10 with capacitor/resistors from radio shack. I have replaced 3 on it in the past five years. The TCU itself can be replaced as well. They appear to sell for about $50 on ebay and plug in as a computer hard drive does. It does still drive with the unit not working properly, but it forces the transmission into sports mode which means you have to manually shift through the gears (On the plus side at least it doesn't strand you when it goes). The other issue at the moment is the battery. It was working when the TCU problem started, but after sitting for a week it wouldn't start. It does start when jumped so it can be driven away ok. I have put over $5,000 into the car in the past five years. Most of the work has been to the front drive train and gaskets. Replaced items include sway bar, oil pan gasket, oil cover gasket, upper ball joints, axles, rotors, plus all gears in transmission were replaced before I realized the problem was actually the TCU. It would be great for someone who can fix it up a bit. Keep it mind it is over 20 years old so they are plenty of minor things wrong with it. For example the speakers are not great, the cd player only plays actual cds (not burned ones), the antennae was snapped off. If there is any particular item that you want to know about please ask. It is inspected until August. It does come with a full tank of gas. Thanks for looking.
