It has been inspected by our DMV and now has a West Virginia Reconstructed Title which can be registered like any vehicle with a regular title. It is a 2007 FORD F-250 "CUSTOM BUILT" SHORTBED 4X4. The truck was originally a longbed from Ford. We brought it in 2008 with less than 4,000 miles from the insurance company with a Rebuildable Salvage Title. It was hit on the left rear and damaged the bed, bumper and left rear corner of the frame. We had always wanted to build a shortbed Super Duty in a regular cab which was not offered by Ford. This truck was a perfect one for this. We removed the bed, rear section of frame, bumper, etc and put in a section of frame from a shortbed crew-cab. We then replaced the bed with a short one that was like new and while we were doing the truck we added a lot of other extras like the FX-4 pkg, 3:73 limited slip rear, Rancho Shocks, New Ford 18 inch Aluminum rims, BFG Tires, XLT Seats, XLT Grille, front bumper, Tu-Tone Paint, etc, etc. We did choose to leave the vinyl mat since it was like new and we did not install power windows or locks like most of the XLT's have. The work was done professionally by us and has been done since 2008 and over 28,000 miles has been driven on it. The truck is very reliable and draws a lot of attention. Everyone looks at it and knows something is different but unless you tell them most people can't figure it out. It looks like it was factory built from Ford like this. You can drive the truck anywhere and it will last for many years and miles with only 32K and with the 6-spd Manual trans you don't have to worry about trans problems like an automatic if you choose to use the truck like a Super Duty Ford was intended. This is also a rare find with the manual trans and is no longer offered by Ford since 2010. The truck has always been babied and garage kept since we built it. It has never had a gooseneck hitch and the only trailer it has ever pulled carried a riding mower or 4-wheeler a few miles between local properties. Our neighbor that we sold it to was very particular with his vehicles. The only reason he traded it back to us was to get a crew-cab for more room for some traveling that is planned for his upcoming retirement years.
