bidding on a very special '66 fastback. this car has a mild 460 with a 4speed, the chassis was custom built , on a surface plate and runs front to rear and side to side. the chassis is a masterpiece. I am told the chassis work was done in house at Roush here in Livonia, looking at the work, I have no reason to doubt the validity of that claim. it rides on four corner coil overs, with a Heidts mustang 2 rack and pinion front and an Alston rear fully adjustable ladder bar set up. it has four wheel manual disc brakes and a narrowed 9 inch, There is a full stock floor that has been integrated with the chassis. several fastbacks gave their lives to complete this car, but I can assure you, there is NO RUST in this body. Period. The battery is located in the trunk, the trunk floor in stock in appearance, but has been custom fabricated to accommodate the exhaust and rear suspension. it has a large capacity stock gas tank. the exhaust is 3 inch stainless with crossover. flowmaster racing mufflers, it was custom bent and hung specifically for this car. the paint is a 9, and the colors are Wimbledon white and Guardsman blue. all glass bears the ford script and carlite name. The interior is very nice, New dash pad, seats, carpet, headliner, windshield, cobra lap belts, vintage '60s blue line sun super tach . Car has fully functional headlamps, tail lamps, brake lights, windshield wipers, cigarette lighter, functional tachometer as well as mechanical oil pressure and temperature gauges. all new interior chrome and trim etc. The hood is the best avail '67 style ( necessary to clear the 460) the motor is a mild '72 460 (very street able) performer RPM intake, custom headers, Power master 100 amp alternator, March serpentine belt system, center force clutch, (hydraulic) Lakewood blow proof bell housing, dual electric fans. the shock towers were removed and the radiator opening was enlarged to accommodate the massive northwest aluminum radiator. the wheels are 14x7 chrome magnums up front and 15x10 chrome magnums in the rear. car has new BF Goodrich radial T/A's all around. I have not installed the window weatherstrip, (which I have new) because I am still looking for the drivers side weatherstrip channel. I have a new trunk mat, ad a few other items. This car looks as if it were built in the mid to late sixties, sounds excellent, it is a beautiful car that turns heads, the car looks and sounds like a monster, However, the guy who built it, planned to drive it rather than race it, it has a brand new 9 inch centersection with a 3.00 gear, making it very forgiving on the street, it is a 2800 lb. car with a big block, this car has ZERO body flex, and requires no export brace or monte carlo bar. I have included two pics of the floor during the cars construction, the floor pans are inset in the centerline of the frame rails, again very nice work.
