Vehicle Detail
Hello! This is a 2004 Porsche Boxster S Special Edition to commemorate the 550 Spyder. 1953 units were made. This particular car is number 696. History: I purchased this car in 2007 from Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, Florida and is now in Ft. Lauderdale. I am the second owner of this accident-free car. I put about 30,000 miles on it since I bought it. Today it has 46,182 miles on it but I will continue driving it until it sells. I will update this auction if I exceed 46,300 miles which is highly unlikely. I have always been very meticulous with it. I always changed the oil and serviced it as needed. I kept this car in a garage and/or covered for most of its life. I cleaned the paint and waxed it every July and January. This car drives and looks fantastic. In case you wonder why I'm selling it, it is to pay for my education. Nothing to do with the car and I wish I could keep it. Condition & Features: The car drives smooth and tight as a Porsche should. It makes all the right sounds and no undesirable noises. In August of 2013 I replaced the water pump and related hoses with genuine parts. At the same time I had the rear wheel bearings replaced and installed new Michelin tires. It had the major maintenance done in 2009 which includes spark plugs change. CV boots replaced in 2012. Fuel cap replaced in 2012. Driver window motor replaced in 2012. New remote key made in August 2013. New activated carbon cabin air filter in August 2013. Other maintenance includes alignments, brake system flush, leather cleaning and conditioning, and minor maintenance like that. I always used genuine replacement parts. The cocoa leather is in great condition with only marks that develop naturally with time and other marks that develop with use. There are no cuts, rips, or discolorations. This car is full leather meaning that the dashboard and door panels are covered in matching genuine leather. The carpet is good too. The paint is excellent considering this is a 2004 model but it is not 100% flawless. It does have small marks from road stones but are only evident upon close inspection. By the way, I had the front bumper repainted at Champion Porsche in 2012 to eliminate 8 years of insects and road grime hitting it. All the instruments work. The convertible top operates fine and it was no rips or cuts. It only shows some marks that develop naturally where the top folds. The short throw shifter clicks into gear very smoothly. In short, mechanically and cosmetically this car is in fantastic condition. The engine is good as new. It is smooth and well balanced even at high RPMs. This special edition has a power boost to 264 HP up from 258 on a regular Boxster S. It makes a sweet, sweet sound. The spare tire is the original one in great condition. The original leather pouch with the original tools including the jack is included. Although not pictured, the wind deflector and its cover are also included. All the extra features and options are listed in the original window sticker from when new, so please take a look at it to appreciate how much more than a regular Boxster S this really is. I will include all the original manuals and other printed materials that came with the car, including the window sticker from the showroom, warranty sticker, service history, and all receipts of work done. Hurley Haywood (highly decorated American endurance driver) took this car for a lap with me one afternoon and put his "sticker of approval" on it. Known issues: There are some minor issues that I want to tell you about to be as transparent as I can. The vanity mirrors covers on the sun visors are missing. You can't see this because the sun visors are normally up. The cup holder operates fine but the front cover of it has a tendency to come loose if pushed on certain spots. The AC is ice-cold. The heater works too. But as most Porsches on the east coast, the insulation foam is breaking down and sometimes small pieces of foam come out of the AC vents. Champion Porsche and two other Porsche specialists told me that this is just an annoyance and nothing really to worry about as long as the AC works, which it does. It is supposed to stop eventually. The rear defogger needs some work. Only one of the conducting painted lines on the rear window is connected and working. The other ones need to be repaired. There is a conductive paint to repair this and reconnect those lines but it needs to be done. The rear passenger side rim got scratched on a curb (valet parking I presume...) but as you can see in the picture it is not terrible. The headlight sprayers work fine but two of the four nozzles are missing. Not the expensive sprayer itself, but the little nozzle balls which are actually Bosch non-Porsche specific parts. So this is my good faith effort to disclose all the details that I am aware of. That being said, this car is being sold as-is. Payment and Delivery: I will accept a bank wire or cashier's check. I expect full payment within 7 days of an accepted bid. The car is available for pickup in Ft. Lauderdale. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions via email. I will respond quickly. Thanks!
