Vehicle Detail
One Cool Caprice Classic Up for sale is a really neat 1989 Caprice Classic in good condition that runs just phenomenally and if it didn’t take up so much space I’d like to keep it in the garage over the winter but alas, it’s a boat. The body is in pretty good shape, the interior is really nice, and when all is said and done, I can’t find a fault on any mechanicals. Here’s a bit more about the ol’ lady: Mechanically she is top notch. She fires right up and the 5.0L V8 with the indestructible 305 runs perfect without a hiccup, has plenty of power, and is not leaking from underneath. The automatic transmission shifts perfectly, the suspension rides so comfortably you’d think you were on a cloud, and the brake pedal feels good with lots of stopping power. The exhaust is not loud and does not smoke and to my own personal amazement, it is still wearing PA inspection stickers until the end of this month. The interior of the car just awesome with spotless cloth upholstery and the seats are still very comfortable and not worn out in any way. Even though an elephant could have comfortably fit in this one and drove it to the peanut store and back, this sedan was very lightly used and kept very clean. The carpets are in good shape with just a few negligible stains but no high-heel rips near the pedals and no entire-thermos coffee spills. There are no foul odors of smoke, no signs of any k-9 ride-alongs, and still has the classic Caprice feel. The top of the dash has splits which isn’t much of a surprise for the year, but the faceplates, trim, power buttons, AM/FM and tape, and air controls all work just as they should. The heat is red hot and warms up the car quickly in this cold weather. No warning lights are illuminated, the speedometer and gas gauge are the sole cluster functions and work fine, and the door panels are in beautiful shape with no wear. This is a really comfortable driver. The exterior of the Caprice is in fair shape with beautiful baby blue paint on the lower half and dark blue paint on the top, which is beginning to show its life with clear coat fading and peeling. If you wanted to have a shop paint just the dark blue portions of the hood, roof, and trunk lid, this would be a pretty neat looker, otherwise it is still decent in appearance. The only dent to mention is on the right front quarter just in front of the door and a bit of rust bubbling is present on the left front near the chrome bumper. All the chrome shines brightly, all the glass is in good condition, and the original Caprice wheels with white stripe tires look terrific. The right (passenger) side of the hood has a small bend but opens, closes, and secures itself shut just fine and doesn’t appear to have been the product of collision. All-in-all a straight and solid body with a couple signs of the times is all. Well that’s the lady for ya. I drive this sedan everyday and you’ll fall in love when you hit the key and take off. She isn’t a movie star and you might want to borrow something else to go to a wedding in, but still a well-preserved and terrific running Classic Caprice that will be sold with no reserve to the highest bidder. The car is being sold with a clear PA title with no brands and true mileage. Thanks for having a look and good luck.
