Vehicle Detail
I broke my back and now am in a wheelchair. I am very sad that I must sell this awesome truck since I can no longer drive a manual transmission. This pains me greatly since I will never be able to find one this nice again. 1992 W250 Club Cab (extra-cab) 4x4 Cummins Inter-cooled Turbo Diesel 5-speed manual. 192k. Very rare and beautiful Metalic Blue color. RUST FREE Montana truck. I am sure if you are looking at this ad you already know this is THE truck, as in, the BEST ever made. The inter-cooled 12-valve Cummins Turbo Diesel is legendary for a reason. This truck has amazing power and is very fun to drive. It is stone reliable. It always starts right up even in the winter without needing to be plugged in like most other diesels (it has a block heater installed if you want to plug it in). It gets GREAT fuel mileage of 20-25 mpg unloaded and still gets 16-18 when towing on the highway (depending on the load, speed, and hills). It is a bit mind-boggling how you can have SO much power and still get great mileage. LE trim package. Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Mirrors, Map Light, Sliding Rear Window, Wood Trim Dash, Cruise Control, Air-Conditioning, etc. The air-conditioning blows ice cold. Nice seat covers (there is a tear in the drivers seat). The stereo seems to have a bad ground so it doesn't have full power. In my condition I haven't been able to get in there and see. Hide-a-ball gooseneck hitch with heavy-duty frame mounts. Rear receiver hitch. Trailer brake controller. Camper tie-downs. Ready for work or play. This truck is mostly stock and I never rodded, raced, or overloaded it. However, there have been a few improvements added over the years. The auto trans was replaced with a very low-mile 5-speed Getrag at 160k. I have driven both the Getrag and the NV4500 extensively and the Getrag is definitely superior. It shifts much smoother and quicker and has the gears spaced closer together which can make a big difference when accelerating a load up a hill. The 3-4 shift in the NV4500 too wide and is a killer (not to mention 5th gear tends to fall off). This Getrag has an elbow and extension on the trans fill spot so it can hold an extra quart. It works great. Shifts great. New Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires (95%) mounted on aluminum wheels. The stock 21cm turbo housing has been replaced with a smaller 16cm size. This allows the turbo to spool up quicker at lower rpm for less smoke and better torque. The original factory size is well known to be too large and cause poor low-end performance. New 4" down-pipe and exhaust. The factory down-pipe was leaking and needed replaced. New rear drive shaft u-joints and center support bearing/bushing. New Battery last year. Issues: as with any older vehicle there are a few issues that could use attention. I want you to know exactly what you are getting. The radio does not play loud volume. The driver's seat has a tear under the seat cover. The windshield has a crack. The right rear tail light is chipped. The roof and tops of fenders could use a buff and clear-coat. There is a wheel stud missing from each side of the rear axle. This is a fairly common issue on these trucks. The studs are easily replaced at the next brake job. The left front spring has a crack in one of the leaves. It is well known the stock W250/W350 front springs were too light for the Cummins engine. So I procured a VERY RARE set of heavy-duty front springs off a Military Crew-Cab with only 22k. These have an extra leaf and are better made than the civilian springs. These have been stripped and painted and had new polyurethane bushings pressed in. They are ready to install and included. I apologize that in my condition I am currently unable to address these issues. $500 deposit due within 24hrs, remainder (bank transfer preferred) within 7 days. Please don't call and ask for a payment plan. I would NOT be selling this beautiful truck if I didn't need the money. I will not end the auction early or entertain 'buy it now' requests. Highest bidder owns the truck. Purchaser is responsible for shipping. Vehicle sold as is, where is. Please look carefully at the pictures. There are small scratches, rock chips, and dings as is normal for a vehicle of this age. There are NO rust bubbles and no body work has been done. This is a nice truck. Clear and free Montana title in my name and in my hand. I will send the notarized title and bill of sale via registered mail as soon as payment clears. Please contact me if you have any questions.
