Vehicle Detail

1968 AMC AMX. Project car, it is a rolling shell. It is a 290, V-8 with a manual T-10 trans, 4 speed. They only made 525 4 speeds with a 290. Not many at all were painted Calcutta Russette. It has the ID number on the glove box, they only made "a couple hundred" with the ID there. It also has the highest ID number on the glove box ever found, number 1532. Car has new quarters on it, but they do not include the crease that was originally there. It was started to be repainted torch red with a black hood and black stripe. The new paint is very nice, you only need to finish painting in the same color scheme, it is primed. Painted underhood. The engine and trans are done following this color scheme, it will look bad when completed, or turn it back to the original Russette. Patch on front of frame. Doors are from a donor vehicle, no rust. Underside is undercoated, not perfect, but, very nice, there are some minor rust spots. Trans looks very nice, repainted and ready to use. The engine is in pieces. Needs machine work on the block, it has been hot tanked and magnafluxed. New intake and headers. Missing some engine parts, you would want these new anyway, like the carb, the air cleaner, cam, and probably other things. Heads are rebuilt, $400 invoice. Main bearings, bolts, caps, and a set of roller rockers are included. Brakes need all new lines. Drum brakes all around. Nice, almost new looking gas tank, has a dent, and repainted straps. Seats are recovered, as is, there is a pic. MANY parts and duplicates, you get what you see. There are some parts missing. I can think of the chrome between the side windows, an emblem, carpeting, inside plastic rear quarters, trim around lip of hood, etc. No headliner, shells available. Probably other things missing, remember what you see is what you get. Keys are missing, a locksmith can make them quickly from the cylinders.Side glass and radiator not shown, included. Driver's door has glass in it, passenger's door and side windows need installed. Valve cover tag 102H29. Not perfect, a project to be sure, but based on its condition and rarity, I think it is fairly priced. I will help you load it on your trailer. I will also break it up and sell only the shell and parts, NO ENGINE or TRANSMISSION. $3200.Ask questions, please, my cell is 570 898 1992. I paid cash, I only expect you to do the same. Good luck.
