1955 FORD THUNDERBIRD Vintage Autohaus and Imports is proud to present this 1955 Ford Thunderbird. Our little 55 bird is one wonderful running and driving car. It is one that I would take touring, it is just one of those cars you come across that has that feel. The Bird is done all original with two upgrades and an exterior color change. The original teapot carb has been upgraded to the 1957 style Holly 4 barrell and the 6 volt system has been changed to 12 volt. The original exterior color was Thunderbird Blue. The interior is correct according to the data plate. This is a highly optioned bird for 1955. It is equipped with the hard top and soft top. It has a 292 cid engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, electric windows, electric 4 way seat, wire basket hub caps, and engine dress up kit. It has an aftermarket under dash air conditioning unit added that blows cold. It has an Optima battery with a battery tender wired in and hidden behind the battery tray. During long storage periods just plug it in and your set for the next you get her out. The body, paint, glass, soft top, hard top, and bright work all show well. It is an older restoration but has been very well maintained by the same owner for over 20 years. The paint is not checking or bubbling anywhere, just a little chip here and there. This is a very presentable car and is nice enough to still show at cruise night and your local shows. The floor pans, body braces, inner rockers, trunk pan, all appear to be original and are very solid. The floor pans still show the original color of the car. The clock does not work (typical bird clock) and the stock radio turns on but has no sound. Everything is in working order, no drips or leaks, no smoke, very tight suspension and drive train. If you come take her for a test drive you will buy it. I enjoy driving every car that we get in and this just one drives out so well.
