Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE I acquired the below pictured trio of “hot rod/pro touring” Honda Z50s a few years ago. This auction is for the teal 1971 Honda Z50. Please view my other auctions for the white 1969 Honda Z50, and an all original 1969 Honda Z50 (not pictured). The Yellow Z50 is sold. I am not the person who built the bikes, so my knowledge of the restoration/parts used is somewhat limited. I will tell you what I do know. In dealing with bikes, specifically Honda’s over the past 15 years, I have never seen anything like these. If these were cars, they would be considered rotisserie restored pro touring/ resto mod builds. As you read on and look at the pictures, I think you will agree that NO expense was spared in the building of these little monsters. Personally, I prefer a low hour/low mileage original over a restored bike any day, but as we all know there is always room for exception(s), and these are it. They were built from the ground up a few years back with unbelievable attention to detail, and have only been test ridden on a paved surface. The rest of their lives have been spent with fluids drained, in a climate controlled showroom. My first instinct when I got them home was not to touch them….but I just couldn’t help it. I filled them with oil, primed the cylinder, gassed them up, and filled the batteries with acid. Both bikes roared to life in 1-3 kicks. Everything on the bikes works as it should. I took each bike for a 2-3 mile ride around my neighborhood and couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. The engines run great, lights all work, everything spins smoothly, brakes work great….I literally couldn’t be happier with them. I didn’t want to keep the bikes in my garage due to dust and people walking around, so I drained all of the fluids and they now sit safely side by side in my bedroom. One of the best parts about this bike is that it is currently registered and insured in my name. It has an NJ street title just like a full size motorcycle, with no restrictions. It would be great to cruise around town, the city, car shows, or your local cruise night….and I bet it draws more attention than any car there. I would prefer to keep the ‘hot rod’ z50s together because they always have been, but eBay will not let me sell them as a pair. This auction is for the Teal 1971 Honda Z50 vin: Z50A-244536. I am not going to carry on with a huge description because the pictures really speak for themselves. I will just run through some highlights. This little bike is powered by a totally rebuilt/restored period correct CT90 motor#CT90E-5002165–with a matching factory Honda carb. Check out how the frame was done on the left side to accommodate the dual range transmission of the CT90 motor. The engine is a 4 speed (auto clutch) and can be changed from low/high transmission range. It is also equipped with a full nitrous system. I have never had a car or bike with nitrous but from what my friends have said, this system is ready to go. Mounted on the left side back seat mount is a little switch that arms it, and the actual button to activate is on the end of the left handlebar. The tank is empty, but when you hit the switch a red light lights up on it, and when you push the button on the end of the handlebars it makes a “click.” I don’t know for sure if it has ever been used but If I had to guess I would say no. This bike has a custom teal paint job with the super cool “monkey” badges on the tank. The speedometer is real deal Honda, the mileage is obviously not correct, the speedometer must have been used on something else before being used on this bike. Please view all pictures closely, read complete listing, and ask all questions before bidding. I would prefer local pickup, but will assist in shipping if necessary (see below). Obtaining shipping quotes and information is the buyer’s responsibility, please have this all sorted out before bidding. Potential buyers with less than 10 positive feedback must contact me before bidding, or your bid will be cancelled. I reserve the right to end the auction due to local sale. My name is Ken and I can be reached at 908-581-3883 with any questions. The Z50 is located in Whitehouse Station NJ 08889 which is about an hour west of New York City and an hour North East of Philadelphia. I can offer several shipping options for you to choose from: 1) I will deliver the bike to Forward Air in Newark NJ and load it in one of their containers for a fee of only $100 that will include new ratcheting tie-downs and locks that will be yours to keep. You must make all the arrangements and pay Forward Air their fee before I deliver the bike. You MUST use their container. Please check with them for rates @ WWW.FORWARDAIR.COM 2) There are several transportation services that will pickup and deliver door to door without crating. One that I have used with success is Federal Transport. You may contact them @ WWW.FUNTRANSPORT.COM There is no charge for my assistance with this option. 3) My favorite! You may make your own arrangements and I will assist you anyway I can on this end. This bike can be loaded with ease on to any type of vehicle you send. Again, there will be no charge for my assistance with this option. Thanks and good luck !!!
