Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 For sale is a low mileage 2011 BMW 328i X Drive with only 15,900 miles. This vehicle has been completely checked over by BMW and works exactly as it should. I purchased this vehicle from an insurance company after it had been LIGHTLY flooded. The water had only risen about 1 or 2 inches above the carpets on the inside of the car and did not affect any of the mechanical functions, i.e. engine, transmission, alternator, starter, etc. of the car. Again, NO water got into the engine! I originally purchased this vehicle as a second car for me and my family. After I did everything I could to return it to new condition, my wife and I decided a 3 series was just too small for 2 baby seats in the back. Therefore we are switching to a bigger car. That said, I fixed this car to be in "as new" condition assuming it was going to be my own daily driver. The following is a list of things that I did to erase any effects of the slight water damage: 1. I changed all of the fluids in the vehicle to make sure no water got into any of the mechanical components of the car. It did not. 2. I had BMW strip out the seats, the rug (including the foam insulation underneath the rug) and the dashboard. They then wiped down all the electrical wiring and sheet metal of the car to remove any lingering moisture. They also tested all the electrical components of the car. Not only the components that could have been affected directly by the water damage, but everything. 3. There were a few components that BMW advised me I should have replaced , so I did. The first was the gas pedal and the electrical connection behind the pedal. Then the navigation controller on the center console was swapped out for a new one. Third I replaced the entire fuse box (mostly to be safe and prevent any future issues). Again all electrical wiring was wiped down and tested. All moisture was removed from the car in every way conceivable before the new carpet, the seats, and the new floor mats were put in. We also tested the dash cluster, the communications module (bluetooth, phone, nav -antenna, optic fiber, etc) which was not flooded and works as it should (located below the rear seat), the stereo, the speakers, etc. and everything checked out fine. I purchased the entire interior rug and insulation kit from BMW for approximately $700 and had it professionally installed. I also purchased all new floor mats, again OEM products. The vehicle was then test driven by BMW several times and everything checked out fine. I can honestly say when you are in the vehicle and driving around, it looks, feels and smells like a new car. When I decided to sell the car it was detailed again on the outside (the inside didn't need a detail as the seats already looked new and the carpet and the floor mats are BRAND NEW). I've gone ahead and listed all of the features available in the car below. I am selling this via a no reserve auction, so the highest bid when the auction ends will win a great vehicle at what I’m sure will be a great price. Again, I can't emphasize enough the fact that this vehicle is in “as new” condition. Please feel free to call me with any questions about the work that was done or about the vehicle in general. I've done my best to take pictures of all the work that was performed while it was being done (you can see the picture of the car when completely stripped down (not only the seats out (and covered), but the rug out, and the dash off). I also included a full set of pictures showing the vehicle in its current condition. I've also taken pictures of most of the receipts for the parts that I replaced. I did not include the receipt for the labor that was done, which was very extensive and costly. Again, I fixed this vehicle in order for it to be the car that my family could use on an everyday basis and it shows.
