oldironfarmer store 1956 Chevrolet Project Short Bed Pickup Truck The drivetrain was done in the early 90's and not driven much. Sat the last 10 years or so until recently. Truck has very good running Corvette 350 that has been blueprinted and Balanced. This is based on info and receipts from previous owner. Edelbrock intake, 4 bbl carb. Large valve Camel Hump heads. Dual Point Mallory ignition, headers, dual exhaust. Tranny is a 4 speed Muncie with a 1973 Chevy rear end. Converted to 5 lug all around. Still stock front axel, that has a rebuild at the same time. Drives nice and straight down the road. Brakes looked like new when I pulled a wheel. It fires right up and runs good down the road. Motor sounds very good, idles smooth. I have it running from a small gas can as the tank is dirty and needs to be pulled and boiled out. Clutch needs to be adjusted as it releases at the very end of the pedal. Otherwise it drives very well. Most lights, signals and gauges work. Has working tach. Radiator looks clean and has antifreeze. New coil, recent battery. Tires hold air. Body is mostly straight and mostly solid. Has a 1957 hood. Floors are good. Rust in bottom of front fenders (blisters, and drivers side has about a quarter size hole. Cab corners are not too bad, light blisters. Otherwise solid. It does have a funky skylight cut into cab. It actually looks good, but it is still a big old hole cut into the roof. I have another cab that is near perfect that could be negotiated separately (small window too). Glass is all good. No wood in bed, but slats are all there, has spare carrier. Rear bumper has a modern receptacle. And it has plenty of power to pull just about anything. The truck runs and drives and is actually better than in the photos, which is usually the opposite of stuff advertised with pictures only. The original Vin tag on the cab is missing. It has its original frame number. It does have current title and is on non-op in CA so no fees are due. It is titled to the engine number and has a "DRF" vin. From my quick research DRF (department registry file) was used in the 70's as an assigned vin by the state, before the current assigned vin system. But wanted full disclosure here so there are no issues. I would prefer no out of country buyers because of this. It has been on the road a very long time titled this way and I doubt it would be an issue anywhere as it has not been in CA but every state is different and I do not know the rules, so do your own due dilligence.
