Vehicle Detail

Here is a very nice, clean and straight 1969 Coronet 500 for your consideration. It is an original 383 4bbl/727/8.75 car. This car was restored one year ago and has been driven about 1000 miles since then with no problems at all. All the lights work, the brakes stop straight and true and the engine runs great. I wouldn't hesitate to hop in and take a road trip. It starts easily and is a joy to drive. I am only selling to generate some cash to put an addition on my shop so I can get a lift. I am getting too old to be crawling around on the floor. The following information should answer most of your questions: Body: There were rust pinholes along the lower rear edge of the quarters, so lower panels from Sherman were seam welded in. The floors are all original and clean. The underside is blacked out. The doors, fenders, rails, aprons, rockers, etc. are solid as a rock and even the trunk floor was nice on this southern car. As you can see in the pics the car is straight. The bumpers have been rechromed and are very nice. The stainless trim is straight and was professionally polished to a high shine. The doors hang straight and shut well. The panel gaps are nice, tight and uniform. The car was painted with DuPont Chromabase and 7900S clear. The paint was color sanded and buffed and is level with virtually no peel. The tail stripe was added and was painted on top of the red and under the clear. The car was originally olive green (as shown on the fender tag), but I didn't think that a color change to red was a bad idea at all. I am glad I made the change, because it really turns heads and is a sure trophy winner at shows. I also added the non-OEM hood scoops because I like the look, but they are not correct for this car. Since the scoops have 383 call-outs, I welded the fender nameplate and call-out holes shut and deleted the Coronet nameplates and 383 Four Barrel call-outs. The tinted and shaded windshield is new and the rest of the glass is nice. The vinyl top was replaced with a new one from Legendary. As you can see in the pics the grill and tail panel are very clean and straight. Drivetrain/Suspension/Brakes/ Tires: Completely rebuilt non-original 383 four barrel, standard bore, Sealed Power rings, Melling hi-volume oil pump, Clevite bearings, TRW timing chain, all the good stuff. The cam is a copy of the 60's Magnum cam and has a slight lope, but idles well. Engine runs great and sounds good through the dual exhaust with OE style R/T tips. The non-original 727 transmission is also completely rebuilt with heavy duty clutches and bands. The converter is stock. The car shifts firmly with some modifications to the valve body, but still shifts automatically and isn't harsh like a race car. The rear is the original 8.75 and is not a Sure-grip. The car is an A/C car and the pump is mounted but the hoses and condensor are not, but they do come with the car. I am a snow bird and this car is only used when I spend winters in southern Alabama and I did not need the A/C. The car is a power steering car and goes straight down the road. The manual brakes work well, stopping straight and true. I replaced all the wheel cylinders, flex lines and wheel bearings, so they should be trouble free for a long time. The u-joints are also new. The ball joints, bushings and tie rods are all good. The shocks are new. Tires are like new and the wheels are nice with polished trim rings. Interior: An original buckets with buddy seat car, it has new updolstery front and rear, new Legendary carpet and headliner. The door trim panels are very nice. There is an aftermarket radio in the dash as the original 2 watt AM radio was dead. All the weatherstrips are nice. The speedometer works, but reads about 20% high. I assume a different speedometer gear is needed for the transmission, but I simply lived with it, doing a little mental math to keep the law at bay. The wipers work fine. If you will check my feedback, you will see that I am a straight shooter that doesn't need to cheat anybody. A long time Mopar collector, I own over 50 Mopars, and rarely sell anything, but I do want to upgrade my Alabama shop with a lift, so sometimes you sell some things to get what you want. Ask any questions you want and I will try to answer them quickly. Ebay requires that I put in the odometer mileage and I did so, but who knows if it has rolled over, I bet it has. Now the legal information. The car is sold as-is, where-is and no warranty applies. I am not a dealer, just a Mopar collecter that needs to get off the floor. The car must be picked up before April 8th, 2013. That is when I return to Michigan from my Bama winter home. If this time frame doesn't work for you, please contact me driectly to see if something can be worked out. The total sale price must be paid and any cashier's checks or bank draft must be cleared through my bank prior to pickup. Of course, cash works anytime. If you are having the car shipped, I will be happy to work with your shipper's schedule and can move the car down the road a half mile to a place with a large lot for a transporter to park and load. Please ignore the Michigan plates, the car is in Ashford, AL 36312. I am a snow bird and spend winters at my Bama home. The car is titled in Michigan, which is a good thing, since Alabama never issued titles until after 1978.
