The Ultimate Right Hand Drive British Driving Experience. 1972 Very early series 3 (number 43 I believe). Has had restoration approx 10-12 years ago. This included a new GALVANIZED frame. If you are familiar with the all aluminum Land Rovers, then you know that the one weak point for rot was the frame, not the case now for this LR. The frame alone sells for $3800 plus delivery and Probably about equal to that to have it installed. If you are seriously thinking about buying a Land Rover buy one that has already had this done. It will last forever after that. The motor was rebuilt at the time of restoration and has 5850 miles since. It does purr, idles very smooth with no smoke whatsoever. It holds 45-50 lbs oil pressure, even warm. It shifts smoothly and runs out very nice. I have had it to 65 MPH and it runs nice and straight and tight. It also has the benefit of a Fairey Overdrive. Recent Clutch and Brake CylindersOne year old BatteryWebber carb conversionRoll bar with retractable seat beltsBrush GuardSafari hard TopRear seats and Middle Jump Seat (7 passenger)"Superwinch" locking hubs Body is very good. It has been repainted and at the time it was a quality repaint as everything was removed and dis-assembled. It has heavy scalling and some rot under passenger seat tool box, that is it. Looks to have had water sitting in it. This was no trailer queen after restoration. It was used as year round transportation the last few years to get in and out of a Tahoe Forrest Cabin down a dirt road. It is very presentable and just enough patina and scratches to make you want to use it. Exhaust does not seam to leak but pipes have heavy surface rust and muffler does too. Is something I would consider replacing at some point. I bought it basically as it is now and do not know much of the history except what was conveyed from the previous owner and I do not have documentation. I have used 4wd a few times and everything works. It does have a few electrical gremlins, turn signals and horn are non-op and the "cold start" dash light stays on. Headlight, tail lights, heater, dash lights, gauges are all working. Alternator is charging. Radiator is good, no leaks and full of antifreeze. Oil is clean and full. Tires are very low mileage BF Goodrich Commercial TA Traction. Interior is clean, seats are all good, drives seat has some cracking but not yet split. Dash has a crack. Glass is all good. Weather stripping was definitely replaced as it is good. I have Clear CA title and it is registered until this week in CA and due if staying in CA. Title matches vin on bulkhead. I will hold for 30 days while transportation arrangements are made. Please ask question before bidding. Less than 10 positive feedbacks and I ask that you send me an email before bidding so I know you are serious. And overall nice rig that can be driven as is and improved upon while you drive it. 40 year old truck but nicer than most. I will ad the max photos. if you would like to see more just ask. I also have video of it running and driving I can send interested parties. For sale locally for the buy it now price so auction could end anytime. If you would like to see and drive it in person, just ask, I can be available. Thanks. I know a local shipper that can deliver it anywhere in CA. Oakland Port is $225, Los Angeles Area is $325.

On Jan-25-13 at 06:53:47 PST, seller added the following information: I have one original ignition key but do not have the door keys as they were lost. On Jan-28-13 at 19:54:21 PST, seller added the following information: I drove the land Rover about 40-50 miles over the weekend. About half on the road and half on the trial. It drove and handles great. I did have the driver rear wheel get warm that I noticed after I got back. So I pulled the wheel and did not see any issues except the wheel cylinder did not seam to want to retract all the way back in? So it may need a new wheel cylinder? Drove it again about 10 miles this morning and the wheel had no heat and put a jack to it again and the wheel turned free. Just an FYI. Also I am lowering the price to ensure it sells. I have had many responses and a few offers to end the auction early. If you want it early the "Buy it Now" is available, and very fair in my opinion. On Jan-30-13 at 21:47:58 PST, seller added the following information: I did get the turn signals working, but the switch is very stiff. The horn is there and the same switch as the signals controls it. So my guess is replace the signal cam and that should solve it. Headlight and Running and Brake lights all work. I have had many questions about driving a right hand drive car. You really do not even notice it after just a few minutes driving. People do a double take when they do not see anyone in the left hand seat.
