Vehicle Detail

FOR IMMEDIATE SALE This 57 has a 390 V8 with a 4 Speed Top Loader transmission. This engine and transmission are from a 1966 Ford 390GT the transmission code is HEH-CL. One of the extra hoods in the bed has the 390 Hood scoops mounted in it from the original Fairlane donor car ~ this is likely the original hood from when the modification were done back in the late 1960s. It is very straight with a few spots of bubble rust but no serious cancer. The rockers, floors, and wheel wells are solid. The interior is mostly original down to the Factory Ford floor mats. Speakers were mounted in the doors and an 8 track attached under the dash. The original steering wheel was replaced with a great looking vintage hot rod wood wheel. The seats have a cover on them that is deteriorating from age but underneath they are decent shape. There is a slew of extra parts in the bed including two hoods, front and rear bumper, extra grill, headlight buckets, extra trim, extra hinges, core support, and radiator. This Ford is complete needing very little to be back on the road as a driver. I have not tried to fire the engine as it will need to be drained and gone over after sitting for so many years ~ thankfully it was inside and protected from the weather. This is an great rig with an awesome story. I purchased this Ranchero along with a number of other cars in June of 2011 from the estate of the second owner. He purchased the Ranchero in the late 1960s and used it as his daily driver until 1979. He had a front end accident requiring new fenders and hood, frame was not bent. He drove it into his barn put new front panels on it but never finished it. The barn was sealed in 1979 and the rig sat collecting dust for 32 years. When I pulled it from the barn the rear brakes were locked up but a few taps and they broke free. It had two mag wheels on the front and two original steel wheels on the rear. 3 tires were still holding air. I swapped out one of the front mags for a steel wheel laying in the barn because I couldn't get it to inflate. I trailered the Ranchero home with the thought of making it the tow vehicle for our vintage Airstream. Sadly I do not have covered storage for it and it sat out all last winter. I realize now that I will not get to this project for some time if at all and do not want this gem to sit out another winter. If you don't like my price than make me an offer ~ but let's not haggle.
