Vehicle Detail

This is a cherry vehicle bought by me from the second owner who owned it since it was 3 years old. The brakes have been completely reworked with new wheel cylinders and master cylinder as well as booster. I show pictures of brake lines that were custom made to replace original lines. some other person said their 1968 Travelall sold for $30,000. This one is ready for you to complete. It runs fine and the transmission is newly reworked and the front window channels are new as well. This is a cherry ( by this I mean that no one has mucked it up nor has it been in any wrecks that I can tell after careful inspection of the under carrage and body parts.) vehicle bought by me from the second owner who owned it since it was 3 years old. Its been about 6 years since I bought this truck from the retired CA labor Judge who owned it. He lives in Greenville GA The brakes have been completely reworked with new wheel cylinders and master cylinder as well as booster. I show pictures of brake lines that were custom made to replace original lines. The text below in red ( is what some other person said about their 1968 Travelall that sold for $30,000. This one is ready for you to complete. Important things I have failed to mention for your consideration are, such as, all original hubcaps, all original door handles and window cranks. A very important thing that shows this was a prized family heirloom that only became unused and sat in the carhouse for a long time and got dusty, and the man still had the original factory coded keys for the ignition as well as the keys for both the gas tanks. Which reminds me, I removed both gas tanks after I got it and boiled the shelac out of both and treated both with that rust inhibiter that is red if you know what I mean. The carb is fresh and works perfectly with the automatic choke as original. I am in the antiques business and i never like to change anything from what it was originally designed with. This truck was set up to pull a travel trailer like an Airstream so the judge had a CB mike mount on the dash and a flashlight bracket on the top of the dash as you can see in one of the of the pictures. Years ago when this truck was young you could see large packs of these gipsy wagons traveling together flying down the road with silver trailers behind them. They all stayed connected by CBs. It runs fine and the transmission is newly reworked $ and the front window channel$ are new as well. The color Bahama Blue, but this truck grew up in the CA capital, and still wears 100% of its original factory sheetmetal. Make no mistake, the Travelall is big, and someone spent only a little time getting that pristine body into shape for a fresh coat of two-stage urethane paint in the almost original hue. These were designed to be working vehicles, and even though the notion of an SUV was ahead of its time, the execution was still rugged and aimed at the commercial market. Nevertheless, panel fit is good, and the big body can even be considered handsome with its expansive glass areas, big-rig style front end, and stylish tailgate with round tail lights. I can guarantee that the paint is far, far nicer than it was when it was new, and it looks great on the 1960s body panels. The seats have the original covers which only need new fabric inserts. The headliner needs replacing. It is there but is some sort of hard board with little tiny holes made in it and it is broken a little but could possibly be repaired but should be replaced I am sure.I removed the horn ring to keep someone from stealing it but it is OK. Front bumper has been freshly recromed for big buck$ and looks like new. It has tinted glass all the way round as well as windshield with new window channel rubber. I was lucky to find this new tinted windshield.$$$$International made farm farm equipment to begin with, and that the company eventually became the company known today as Navistar International and making large trucks. But what many folks don?t realize is that International Harvester pretty much invented the vehicles we commonly call SUVs, and perhaps most specifically, the large truck-based, wagon type SUVs like today?s Chevy Suburban and Ford Expedition. And if you think Chevrolet invented the big 4-door truck/wagon, guess again?the Suburban didn?t have four doors until 1973. This particular 1968 International Harvester Travelall 1000C might very well be the best unrestored one in the world. Its hard to imagine any with better bones than this truck? If you are an International Harvester fan, an old truck enthusiast, or just someone who wants to drive something nobody?s ever seen before, this Travelall is the hot ticket. This is one true blue honest Travelall for you to enjoy finshing up what can be high point restored Travelall. What you see is just like it has always been except for the paint job. I went outside and looked at the speedometer and it shows 63,597 on it.
