Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a highly modified 1973 International Scout II. I will start with what this Scout is not. It is not a trailer queen show truck. Also, it is not a spring lifted daily driver. This is a truck I have owned as a hobby / toy for 16 years. It has gone through several ground up builds and the last one was this past spring. Mileage on the odometer is what the engine and transmission have on them after rebuild (1,826 miles) and since the whole truck was assembled. The value in this truck is not fit and finish. Anyone that is into off road trucks, especially Scouts will see this has all the hard expensive work done. I stopped adding up my receipts when I reached $35,000. The reserve on this is set at what you would spend just on the drive train alone. Save yourself years and thousands of dollars starting with this rig. I would consider this truck to be 98% complete with just a few minor odds and ends left. What’s on the Scout; · BFG 33-12.5-15 Mud terrain’s, with never used spare · American Racing chrome spoke wheels, 15X8 · Dana 44 axles – 4:88 gears. Detroit Tru-Trac front, Full Locker back. New bearings and u-joints hub to hub. · Custom front driveshaft from Wood’s , rear driveshaft extended. New U-joints · Spring over suspension modification with High Steer knuckles and custom draglink and tie rod. New ball joints and heavy tie rod ends · Four wheel disk brakes with new rotors, calipers, and pads · Hydro boost power brake assist · Stainless steel brake lines with steel braded flex line ends · 33 Gallon gas tank with skid plate · Rock sliders and rear tire carrier bumper from D&C Extreme · Front ARB wench bumper with Warn 8,000# wench · Pro Comp RS9000 shocks on custom long travel mounts front and back · New body mount bushings and bolts · Summit Racing turbo mufflers on duel 2.25” H pipe exhaust · 4 core radiator with custom aluminum shroud and two 10” electric fans and one 12” · 392 IH improved cooling engine – Zero decked, 40 over with hypereutectic pistons, Schneider 131 cam lifters and springs, Heads milled 0.010 and ported on the exhaust side, rebuilt oil pump, chrome valve covers, 2bbl non-egr intake (I was going to go fuel injection), Holley 2300 carb with offroad vent and side float, Stans ceramic coated headers, Mean Green starter, Mallory Uni-light distributor with MSD 6-AL control box · Automatic transmission professional shop rebuild with AMC tail shaft and adaptor, Low RV first planetary gear · Dana 300 Jeep transfer case with twin stick shifters · B&M mega shifter for transmission · Kentrol fiberglass front fenders · Painless 18 circuit wiring harness (plenty of spare circuits for accessories) · DIN in dash CB mount with · Tuffy center console with Kenwood head unit, amplifiers mounted under front seats, 6X9 speakers in doors and in rear beside back seat. · Tub is 100% rust free, bed liner from firewall to back, passenger area has heat / sound insulation · Factory style roll bar · Front shoulder strap seat belts Truck also comes with spare front and rear axles, and a spare front driveshaft This truck drives great and can hang with the big boys on the trail. I built it for weekend off roading with the family, so it’s not so crazy to be unusable as a regular vehicle.
