Alabama did not give Titles to car before 1970 so this car is sold with a Bill of Sale only. Revision: I looked at the car very well and noticed 3 things I need to add- 1-there is a hole in the floor pan behind the passenger seat-about 8 inches in diameter (its a rough cut) 2-There is a 1 inch crack at the base of the inside where the fiberglass meets the floorpan behind the drivers side 3-There is a 1 inch scratch at the front of the drivers side "where the door would be" near the top edge. The scratch is about 1/16 inch deep and 1/8 inch wide and about 1 to 1 1/4 inches long. Finally-There has been tremendous interest in the car. I have fielded many calls today. After talking to the owner of the car he would prefer not to end the auction early. Please ask any questions you need to. I do not know how to transport the car other than come down and get it but i am willing to help in any way possible-but please-when arranging for transportation ask if they can winch the car up onto the truck-this car does not roll so it will need to be winched up onto a tow vehicle. Thank you and good luck. This Dune Buggy is part of an Estate. I am selling this for the family. This is an ORIGINAL Meyer Manx Dune Buggy mounted on a Volkswagen. I think the Volkswagen year is a 1959 because I founds some parts boxes marked 59 Volkswagen and this was the only Volkswagen there. The Body is a real Meyers Manx with the ID plate that describes it as a 1968 number 1502. The color code is the correct one as it is painted Orange Gold Metallic. I think it is the original paint. There are no cracks in the fiberglass and no repairs to the fiberglass. The vehicle was tagged last in 1988. It has been in the garage up until now. The Paint looks like it has always been garaged-it is not faded in any way. Now for the chassis/motor. I do not have a key for it so I do not know if the motor or any runs. All 4 brake drums are locked up so it has to be drug. But again-the body is in excellent condition and that is the main value of this car. Comes with the original Meyers Manx Front and Rear License Brackets that are marked Mayers Manx. This is a CLASSIC! You do not see many of these Original Meyers Manx Cars anymore.
