Vehicle Detail
1981 Volkswagon Vanagon Westfalia - Automatic Transmission Full Camper w/ Skylight The first & most important thing to know about this van is that it is a project. It runs/drives & we did quite a lot of the work, but there is still more to do. If you are looking for something pristine, I suggest you look elsewhere. If you are looking for an "in progress" project, this may be your dream come true! The camper interior is in relatively decent condition. There is a good sized tear in the upholstery on the tap/back area of the rear seat, but, the upholstery is in otherwise good condition. The original tables are intact & in good condition. Comes with a rebuildable 1.8L Porsche 914 engine. Also comes with extra wheels & tires & extra interior molding. Exhaust is good. What's been done: Any rust has been treated with Pore15 & then primed. All markers, lenses have been replaced with newer versions. Seats have been replaced with newer seats. Poptop canvas has been replaced. Interior has new laminate flooring. New brake master cylinder The biggest needs: Although the engine does run, it would need engine work before any long trips. Paint It also needs the headliner cleaned (there is some spray on product you can buy to accomplish that), the exterior pieces for the hook-ups need to be replaced (parts you can usually find on eBay) & other small things. It also needs an interior door panel for the sliding door. These seem to damage easily & are not so easy to find. We had planned to make one that would hold up better. All around a great project for someone. We have just never had the time to finish it. Please call Dan at 541-842-0132 with any questions you may have. Thanks for looking & have a great day.
