Vehicle Detail
Here is a very nice, low miles 1968 Sport Satellite. It was a Georgia car and never has had any rust. All the body parts are original except the right rear quarter that had a large crease nearly it's full length, so I replaced it with an AMD quarter. I would rather have a new filler free panel than a bumped and filled original. That was the only body damage on the car, otherwise it was dent and rust-free. According to Crhysler Historical, only 83 1968 Sport Satellites were built with a "H" code 383 four barrel and a four speed. This may be the only one that was painted in the rare GG1 metallic green. I assume somebody wanted to order a "sleeper" and have all the fun of a Road Runner, while still having a Satellite. As you can see in the pics, the Dupont Chromabase finish is super nice, with a great gloss and no peel. The body is lazer straight, just look down the sides. The engine bay is very nicely detailed with the correct finishes and colors. The trunk is extremely well finished with a correct jack and spare wheel. All of the stainless trim was professionally polished to a high shine before reassembly after paint. The front and rear bumpers are new with new bolts. Now for some more details: Engine: 1968 383, not number matching as far as I can tell, .030 over bore with Ross flat top lightweight pistons, so it will run on pump gas-10.0 compression ratio. New file fit rings, .010 under steel crank, Clevite bearings, Melling high volume oil pump, timing set, full valve job with pocket ported heads. The hydraulic cam is a 484 lift, six pack grind, it lopes really nicely but isn't hard to drive at all. All new belts, hoses, freeze plugs, etc. Transmission: 1968 Four speed, new clutch disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing Interior: new carpet, new dash cap, new seat covers, new headliner, new original style door panels, new package tray liner, etc. The trunk is just as nice as the outside with a new mat and correct jack and spare tire. Exhaust: stock manifolds with glass pack duals. There are correct tips. It sounds great with the glass packs and cam, nice rumble at low speeds and it barks when you step on it. There is none of the annoying racket you get from flowmaster type mufflers in the cabin. Tires are new with only a few hundred miles on them. Paint & Body: DuPont Chromabase with 7900s clear, wet sanded and buffed to a very nice finish. The surface is level with no peel and there are no chips or scratches or dents. The floor pans are perfect and there is no rust anywhere. This Southern car is solid as can be. You will note that in some of the pics there aren't any wheel opening moldings, the car has a new set installed in the later pics, I just hadn't put themon in the earlier shots. I couldn't wait to take some pics after I got it put together after paint. I have driven the car several hundred miles since the restoration and it has been trouble free. I wouldn't hesitate to hop in and take it for a trip. Runs down the road well, stops and turns like it should. Now the legalese: I am not a dealer, just a Mopar nut with too many cars (56). There is no warranty and the car is sold as-is, where is. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours of the auction close via paypal. The balance is due in full within seven days of the auction close in cash or certified funds. I will be happy to store the car until March 30, 2012, as long as the payment terms are complied with. I will be happy to work with your shipper or you can pick it up yourself at a mutually convenient time. I am retired, so my schedule is flexible. Please note, the car will not be released until all funds have cleared my bank, so do not expect to show up with a check in hand and get the car. Sorry to be hardnosed on this, but I think you will understand. If you check my feedback as a seller and as a buyer, you will see I don't cheat anybody. I am proud of my 100% positive rating and wouldn't do anything to damage it. If you have questions, just send me an email and I will answer promptly. I will not end the auction early for a buy-it-now offer, it just isn't fair to other bidders. On Feb-28-12 at 12:12:02 PST, seller added the following information: I posted a few more pics to help answer some of your questions. The wheels are 14" magnums with very nice trim rings and center caps. The tires are brand new Cooper Cobras in P225/70. All of the brake drums are painted red, just like factory when magnum wheels were optioned. The steering wheel is the premium unit in excellent condition. The trunk interior is just as I described it, very, very nice. The car sets very well, so I posted of side view on level ground to show the stance. It is not a tail dragger with tired rear leaf springs, which was common on high mileage cars. The cluster is nice, but you might be able to see that the gauge lens has minor cracks on the right side. The grill has no cracks or broken areas (hard to find this nice). The door interiors are excellent with new Legendary trim panels. The front wheel bearings are all new with new seals, replaced when I took the drums off to paint them. All the ball joints and tie rod ends are new or nice, tight used units with new boots. The shocks are all new. Keep asking questions and I will do my best to answer them.
