This is my 5th 64 sprint I’ve owned. I drove my wife of 40 years on our first date in one so I seem to restore them, sell them and and nostalgia makes me find another one. Out of all of them except the first that was 6 years old, this has the best body. In the pics you can see the floors which are amazing. The black patches are oversized por 15 patches. I normally tig in some new metal but these were to small to mess with and they will never rust again. I included pics of areas that usually have cancer (rocker panels, rear of trunk, rear lower quarters, rear window channel ( I had to pull rear window for headliner installation). This car has been stored for for a long time the tags are 1980. It looks like it has been repainted at one time. The paint is oxidized beyond belief and worn away from tarp rub. I took a pic of the worst body dent caused by the right side bumper bending into body. The guy I bought it from inheritted it from his Dad. He began restoration with a valve job and new edelbrock intake and carb, electric fuel pump he replaced generator with alternator. He couldn’t get it running good so he sold it to me. I found he had over adjusted the valves bending 4 push rods. I put all new push rods in, changed from electric to mechanical fuel pump. I found fuel pump mount broke off so I put new timing chain cover on and put new timing set and water pump on at the same time. Engine runs good. Everything works even horns, power steering; radio has tuning problem. I put new speaker in could only pick up one station (tuner needs cleaning or antenna problem). I’ve installed new upholstry, door panels, heater rebuilt with new defrosts plenum, glove box, headliner (might need a little tightening) usually they shrink after a while. The dash pad and drivers arm rest have some cracking, windshield inner chrome has pitting, all rubber has deteriation except new rear window seal, windshield has wiper rash on drivers side not in line of sight, trunk lock needs new tumbler. All trim, bumpers, grille are in great shape except one sprint emblem is broke. Cragers and T/A radials with good rubber. I usually paint my toys but I’m retiring next year and I have a 57 Chevy I’m putting an LS1 and T56 combo in so my wife and I can tour the states. I’ve sold my 41 willys, 30 model a pickup, and now this Sprint this year to trim down for retirement. The last Sprint I sold on ebay sold for 14,500. My reserve is less than half of that on this one.
