Vehicle Detail

Absolutely incredible Australian Ford Falcon XB Coupe. Very hard to find one of these in good condition, even in Australia. The car is in Southern California. It is driven regularly and is in very nice condition. The exterior presents very well however there are a few blemishes in the paint and there are 2 small dents, 1 on each front fender. The interior is excellent with only some mild drying along the door trim tops where the Aussie sun baked them. It rides on period correct aluminum 5 spoke wheels with brand new BFG rubber. The 302 Cleveland motor is very strong and along with the 3 speed auto, makes a great cruiser and a super fun stoplight dragster. The suspension is tight along with aftermarket progressive rate springs that deliver phenomenal cornering for a muscle car. The freeway ride is excellent and the right hand drive certainly turns heads. I’ve had the car about 7 years. I acquired it through a gentleman who at the time was importing Aussie cars and delivering American iron down under. Coupes in this condition are hard to come by in Australia...when’s the last time you saw one for sale in the states? My story with the car. Since the late ‘70s/ early ‘80s, I lusted after an XB Coupe when I saw the Mad Max movies. Fast forward to the late ‘90s and I began looking for a Coupe. I dealt with many different sellers in Australia always finding that the cars were either very rusty or incomplete. As I was watching prices climb, I figured the quest would be over. However, in 2004, I got an email one day from an importer who was working on a deal and had a car on a transport to him. With only 2 snapshots, I took a chance and bought the car. Through the years I’ve done the regular maintenance and replaced wear items and enjoyed the car. It’s been to shows all over SoCal and I drive it to work once or twice a month. I encourage inspections of the car. We are located in the foothills above San Bernardino just of Route 66, about 75 miles from Los Angeles. I can work with your shipper for loading, I can deliver to the Port of Long Beach or Los Angeles if necessary for a nominal fee. I drive this beauty whenever I want, I wouldn't hesitate to take it on a long road trip. The reserve is far below the cost to buy a comparable condition car in Australia, ship it safely to the USA, pay customs and import duties and register here. This is a rare opportunity. Please ask many questions, I will send my phone number to you if you want to discuss the car. On Sep-20-11 at 05:54:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Several people have asked about the NT-Outback plate. I had that in the barn and put it on the car for fun. The car has a service sticker from a shop in Lithgow and so probably came from that area. (Maybe the original owner drove to watch the races at Bathurst!)
