Vehicle Detail

Well, I would like to sell my something to help fund the restoration of my 1968 GTX numbers matching convertible, so here goes my 1974 Barracuda. Once in a while the hobby has to help support itself! This car was originally was a 318/4 speed with 3.23s in the 8 3/4" rear model, but now has a strong 440/4 speed with a 3.55 Sure-grip in the 8 3/4. The car is very solid and has very nice paint (base/clear). The interior is nice, too. Here are some details: The 440 has less than 1000 miles and has the following parts: balanced hypereutectic .030 over flat top 10.0 to 1 c.r. pistons, balanced rods with good bolts, clevite bearings, hardened valve seats, Comp Cams Xtreme Energy kit w/springs, etc., ceramic headers, electronic ignition, Edelbrock intake, Melling high volume oil pump. The engine runs great, and it has a nice choppy idle that sounds neat through the Flowmaster mufflers. The battery is several years old, but works fine and holds a charge all winter long when the car sits out the Michigan winters. The clutch, throwout bearing and pressure plate were all new when the car was changed to a big block, less than a 1000 miles ago. The flywheel was a used one that was milled true and flat before installation. The tires are like new, minimal wear and the rallye wheels were painted the correct argent and have nice center caps and trim rings. The car drives straight and handles well. It handles like a big-block Cuda should, but it will never be a Porsche! The floors, firewall and aprons are solid, never rusty, as are the doors and fenders. The quarters are also rust-free and original. The paint job is very nice with just a few little stone pecks and small chips, just what you would expect from a car that has been driven some. The paint is level with no peel and has lots of metallic that really sparkles in the sun. The hockey stick stripe is correct for a `70, but I like it better than the `74 style stripe. The glass is all good and the windows roll up and down fine. The grill is super nice, no cracks or damage. The trim and bumpers are all original and in nice, but not new condition. The body is straight and the gaps are all uniform and correct. All the seats covers are nice, no rips or tears. The carpet is also in good condition. The dash pad is cracked in two places, but a new pad or an even cheaper cap could remedy that quickly. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. The sill plates are nice and shiny and not dented or scratched up. There is an aftermarket am/fm/cd player in the stock location. There are speakers in the back seat and the rear package tray. Now the legal stuff: I am not a dealer, just a Mopar fanatic with over 50 cars that needs to sell one car. Therefore, there is no warranty and the car is sold as-is, where-is. I will be happy to answer any questions you have, just send me an e-mail and I will respond promptly. If you would like to inspect the car in person, that can be arranged as well. I will be glad to work with your shipper if you need to have the car shipped. Full payment must be made before the shipper can take the car. I will be happy to store the car for up to 30 days after the acution close provided the payment terms are met. Check my feedback, I have bought thousands of items and sold hundreds on ebay and my feedback proves I don't need to cheat anybody On Jun-08-11 at 06:28:21 PDT, seller added the following information: Based on the inspection of an independent party, here is some information that all need to be aware of: Both rear quarters have been replaced, I thought they were original, but he showed me where the seams at the trunk extensions had non- factory mig welds instead of spot welds. The passenger compartment floors are all solid and original. The front and rear subrames have been tied with square tubing. The trunk floor has had some repair, but hasn't been replaced. The trunk extensions are original and look OK. For those who have asked about the underside, the whole thing is coated with thick black undercoating, you won't need mirrors for the underside at the shows. He said he thought the rear end was noisier than normal, maybe a worn set of gears. But it is a sure-grip with 3.55 gears. I don't want anyone to be unhappy, so I wanted to post this information right away. If this makes a difference to any current bidders, feel free to retract your bid.
