For bid is a 1987 Chevy Corvette. I have owned the car for over 4 years but since having a baby we no longer use it as much. The car has just over 86 thousand miles on it and we have purchased it from the original family, it had about 68 thousand on it at the time. The eldest son bought it new, several years later the father owned it then the daughter and her husband had it and we bought it from them. The car is currently in Massachusetts and has always been registered and insured and state inspected. In the time we have owned it we replaced the exhaust system from the Cat back with a aluminized Flowmaster 3 chamber system. The Bose stereo quit so we installed a new Pioneer system with speakers (using the original speaker covers) it has a CD player and remote. We installed KYB shocks, new alternator, new starter, MAP sensor, complete tune up including wires and recently repaired the ignition switch and installed a new battery. The tires were replaced and the fronts have close to 20k miles on them as does one of the rear. The other was replaced this summer with a BF Goodrich (ran over some metal object in the road and cut the side wall) and it has less than 500 miles on it. The other rear tire does need to be replaced in about 5 or 10 thousand miles. It does have the working factory security system. The car runs well, plenty of get up and go. The car is a good driver but this is a 23 year old car, it does have its flaws. The carpeting in the rear is sun faded somewhat, the driver's seat has a tear in it. The AC does not work, though we had it serviced and replaced some parts it still needs a compressor, but we never needed it as the car has a removable roof so we usually drove without the top on. The car looks good especially when it's cleaned and detailed but the paint has several large chips in it including the front of the roof, the driver's door, the rear near the wing. The car had a repaint in the 1990's to a brighter white than stock. The paint is flat and still shines but it does have those chips. The rims are decent but are well worn. If we were to keep it we were going to remove the wing and repaint the whole car bright white and put aftermarket rims on it. The hideaway headlights work well and do not stick. The telescopic steering wheel works. The driver's side view mirror works (it's electric) but the mirror itself doesn't always stay in place.
