Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my late 1997 / early 1998 Ford E-150 HighTop Conversion Van. This left the Ford factory assembly line in July of 1997, then was shipped to Coachmen Conversion company in Elkhart, Indiana to be converted into a custom RV before being shipped to and sold as new by my local Ford dealership in Oak Lawn,IL. This is technically a 1997 model but could of actually been a 1998 as it was sold after July of 97 when the 98's were coming out. These Ford vans didn't change much over the years and this one looks just like a 2007. It has 90,874 original mainly highway miles on it. I bought it from the original owner and it was well taken care of and serviced by the local Dealer. The report above shows 3 owners but the conversion company was actually the first owner, I don't know why but that's the way they did it back then so actually it's only had one owner before me.. It was basically only used as an RV for summer road trips, not for running around town on a daily basis. To the best of my knowledge, it has never been wrecked or even had a fender bender either. The running boards could use a touchup here and there just from being used but the 2 tone blue paint on the white van is real pretty. I just gave it a Meguier's carnauba paste wax job too by hand. There is no rust to speak of and the exhaust looks like new underneath also incase you're wondering. It's so quiet, You can't even hear this thing running. This RV has all the goodies too including power steering, power anti-lock front brakes, power windows, power door locks, 6 way power driver's seat, power outside mirrors, cruise control works great , tilt wheel, dual airbags, High-power am-fm stereo cassette with a 6-disc CD changer in the over head compartment that you control from the radio in the dash. It has 8 speakers from front to back and the stereo really sounds great. It also has rear auxillary air conditioning that blows ice cold that helps cool the van off in the back on the hottest of days and rear auxillary heater that warms your passengers in the back when it's cold outside. Also has a separate am-fm cassette player mounted on the driver's side rear wall just behind the driver's seat with headphone jacks for separate listening for your backseat passengers or they can pop in a VCR in the tape player and watch a movie on the 13 inch Color TV in the overhead console. All the bay windows open for ventilation and are smoke tinted with bug screens and feature cloth mini-blinds for privacy to block out the sun when watching a movie or changing clothes if you're camping or on a long trip. The driver's and passenger door windows are also smoke tinted to keep the van cool in the hot weather. I just recently replaced the front brake rotors, calipers and brake pads so it will stop on a dime. I also replaced the hard steel coolant lines that run back to the rear heater with new ones and changed all the anti-freeze and the air filter. Oil was recently changed too with extreme duty 5000 mile oil and an oil filter from jiffy lube and is good for another 4000 miles.Raised outlined White letter Tires are like new and in excellent condition with plenty of miles left on them and I just added a set of wide Dodge chrome rims to give it more stability in the turns and on the highway .. The interior is like new and features blue cloth thruout with 4 reclining captains chairs and an oversized fold down sofabed in the way back. I just shampooed the carpeting too. This is a Hightop conversion so there's plenty of room to move around in it and most people can literally standup in it too. The engine is Ford's famous 4.6L Triton V-8 attached to a 4 speed electronic automatic transmission with manually or automatically operated overdrive that you can engage or disengage with a push of a button on the shifter handle. You turn it off when driving around town and turn it on when your getting on the highway. This combination gives excellent performance around town and/or on the highway and the mileage is actually very good with about 16-17 around town and I just got 22-23 on the highway the other day on a 75 mile trip I made. It has a 35 gallon fuel tank too. You can cruise about 600 miles or so without stoping for fuel and your passengers can recline in the plush captains chairs too. The van runs and drives beautifully and just floats down the road as if you were riding in a brand new Lincoln. I had a Dodge van before this and it doesn't compare to the Ford at all, It's not even in the same class if you ask me. The only reason that I am selling it is for medical reasons. My wife and I have some leg problems and it's just too hard for either one of us to climb up into it anymore as we need something lower to the ground so we are going to buy a full-size car instead. Otherwise, we would keep it as it really is a very nice conversion van. If you like blue, you'll love the color combination, you just don't see too many that look this nice. This was a $23,000 van when new and still has plenty of life in it. I hope someone buys it that's going to take care of it like it's been takin care of so far. I'm sure it's got many years of enjoyment in it for someone. Oh, BTW, I wanted to mention that the rear captains chairs and the sofa pop out easily if you need to use it to move something, so it's not only good for moving people but also moving large items around. We will miss it and probably regret selling it as it's been very reliable and useful but unfortunately it does have to go. Our loss, your Gain. !!! If you have a large family or are a Soccer Mom, then this is the vehicle for you. You'll feel very safe and secure in this van as my wife did. If you have any questions, I will answer to the best of my ability so feel free to ask. I will normally answer within an hour or so or at least by the next morning. I prefer local pickup but I can also help with arrangement of vehicle transportation if you are out of town as I have a friend who hauls cars and trucks for a living and offers some very good prices. Thanks for looking at our baby and good luck with your bidding. Thanks, Kenny and Laura. On Oct-13-10 at 13:17:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that this van has Keyless Entry and a Pro Burglar Alarm by Audivox. I never used it and used just the key or the power door locks to open the doors. The past owner hardly ever used it either. I guess from not being used, it needs a new keyfob remote which is available here on Ebay for about $20.00. I was going to buy a new one but never got around to it. I can get one for you or give you the item number on ebay and you can order one yourself, either way is fine. I also want to let you know that I just had all brand-new hangers installed on the exhaust sysyem as they were getting loose and the exhaust had a slight annoying rattle when idling but that noise is completely gone now due to the new exhaust hangers and it's as quiet as can be. There is also some small matching blue pillows included too that my wife kept in the van that are great for relaxing on long trips.
