Vehicle Detail
I have been driving this car for 4 months and have put a new full exhaust & had a full tune-up and rear shocks (front were next but lost my job). Just recently also had the ignition switch replaced. It is drivable right now the solenoid died on me and I just don't feel like putting more money into it. I've already put over $800 on it. I can start it till this day by jumping the starter solenoid (I can show you how if you want to wait to get it replaced). I had the electrical checked and it needs the speedometer replaced as well as the fuel sender so the gauge will not tell you how fast you're going or how much gas you have in your tank. Each of these are found for about $60 or so. If you're handy I even have the FULL service manual for this car. One of the soft brake wires is misbehaving but I can still brake by pumping the brakes twice max. The convertible works great! I have the convertible cover as well for it. Got a lot of compliments on it this summer. There are a couple of tears on the side of the driver's side seat. I purchased this car 4 months ago in hopes of restoring the car but I've since lost my job and cannot afford to invest any more. It will need a new tire on the driver, rear side as it's cracked from wear and currently flat. It has original VW hubcaps and a full tank of gas! I don't have a spare but adding a can of flat fixer to the tire will get it at least 15 miles away from 60304 no problem. The driver side arm rest is in the trunk and not knowing this I purchased an extra set which I'll throw in for free. The radio is a face pull-out after market. Heater works but the dial isn't working so you either have heat or not and the AC doesn't work but did I mention, it's a CONVERTIBLE!! The car doesn't have power steering but she's small and I'm petite and haven't had trouble driving her. I'm not a mechanic so I don't know much else other than what I was told from the two mechanics that worked on it and what I've read in my handy manual but please do send any questions my way. Please feel free to bring a mechanic to check it out before you bid for your and my piece of mind. You are responsible for pick up of the car, I will not ship. Please only serious bidders.
