Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 66 CA160 "baby dream" I purchased it from the original owner with only 547 miles, now it has 552 original miles on it. The bike was in storage for 30+ years. It is completely original down to the tires, and has never been apart except for the removal of the seat and side covers when I cleaned it. The paint, seat and chrome is exceptional. The bike has a new battery, oil change, spark plugs, and a fuel filter has been added. It runs well and shifts just fine. Everything works, horn, lights, electric start, speedometer etc. The tool kit is complete and looks like it was just anodized yesterday. Except the points gauge, none of the tools show any wear. There are 3 original Honda keys. This being an unrestored bike, there are some blemishes. Honda didn't prime their bikes before paint. They painted right over bare steel. There is a small ding in the rear fender, not noticeable immediately, and there is some blemishes in the paint on the front fender on the right side. Left front foot peg rubber is scrapped on the end, tail lamp lens has a hairline crack. Wheel rims have some rust and should be replaced. Tires have some cracks. The tank has some rust inside, but it's minor and I have cleaned it out thoroughly. It doesn't give any trouble. I don't believe in coating tanks. I have shown this bike at several shows and it never fails to draw a crowd. It's one of those bikes that has people around it all day. I've recieved many comments on how nice the restoration turned out, which shows how nice the bike is. everyone is astonished that it is original and unrestored. It could be detailed out even more, I only gave it a decent cleaning. I hate to see it go, it was fun owning and showing it. I would like it to go to someone who will care for it the way it deserves and only ride it sparingly. They're only original once! But, once it's yours, of course you can do what you wish with it. I will contact the winning bidder after the auction to arrange payment and pick up. Bike is sold on bill of sale, VT does not title vehicles older than 15 years.
