Vehicle Detail
1966 Chevrolet Impala SS 2 door hard top . This is a factory Big Block 396 4 speed car from north dakota. Factory AC car with bucket seats and with factory tach and gauges. Call 715-829-5445 with any questions on parts I have for this car. I had motor listed with this car but is no longer on auction but if interested in motor it is for sale. I recently added a few pictures i had of car of when i first bought it, have more but before and after photos but would have to email. Clear title included. This car was very solid to begin with, I stripped all body panels down to bare metal and sandblasted everything else down to bare metal and coated whole car in a dupont black epoxy primer. I never took the body off the frame but the underneath of car was also sandblasted very thuroughly and primed. Car was complete when I got it so I have all parts and pieces besides a few that I will describe later in description. Car had very little rust on it. It had a few small holes in the pass side floor, and 3 small spots in the trunk. I welded new metal and fixed all of them spots, I also fixed metal where the bottom of the windshield seats which was a very common rust spot. Other than them spots there is no rust in any of the floor, trunk or underneath, frame is also very nice.. As you see in the pictures there is one rust spot on the bottom far rear corner of drivers side quarter alond with a few dents, and on the pass side there is one small rust spot on wheel well opening and a little on the bottom far rear of the pass side. Quarters need a little work, doors are straight besides a couple very small dents, the trunk lid is very nice there is no rust anywhere on it and maybe 1 or 2 small dents, the front fenders had some dents and some rust on the bottom so i had them professionally done, they are both ready to be sprayed with a filler primer and sanded. The roof has had some minor dent repair done but is also ready for some filler primer. The hood that came on the car had a lot of dents and i ended up finding a very nice origonal one which is the one you see with the car, it has no rust and as far as i can tell no dents, even the chrome strip is very nice. All of the window glass is good and rolls up and down freely. The fire wall, inner fenders and gas tank are all painted in a black base coat, fire wall and front horn of frame look very nice, inner fenders are in good shape and gas tank is very straight. Transmission has not been gone through, it turns over good by hand, i was told to take it apart and inspect it and have synchrodes put it but never got that far, it is dated for 64-65 july , it has 27 splines on one end and 10 on the other::: numbers of trans... 3851326 on 10 spline end, 3088336, 3851325, 5k122394, tag number 780800 and po308..... Body tag #s 11a st 66-16837 LOS 3098 body TR 837-B D-D Paint E-2kLS Door tag: 168376L123870. Also has 12 bolt possi rear end, not sure the ratio. Front clip is kind of just hanging on for picture purposes, I was planning on putting motor in before I assembled everything. Drivers side fender is not the one that was on the car, i think it came of of a caprice and it needs the emblem holes and chrome strip holes put in it yet. Floor hump needs piece welded back in, i had to take floor hump off to fix hole that somebody else cut in years ago. I do have the piece. Major parts that this car is missing: Windshield, 4 spd console ( I do have axcess to buy one from relative, i would have to get you in touch with him). Rear glass is good, i also have a spare rear glass that i would include as well as a spare trunk lid if you wanted it. Bucket seats need redoing, only one is shown in pictures and it is the worse of the two, rear seat and other bucket are in storage and are not in the photos but are included. Also not in photos is the front bumber and grill, which is also in my storage spot, grill is in fare condition but I was planning on buying a new one, front bumber is pretty nice but needs a good polishing, as well as the front bumber gaurds, rear bumber has one dent in it otherwise would buff out pretty nice. All the bumber brackets have been sandblasted and primed also. All the chrome I have is seen in pics, most of it is pretty nice except the trunk lip one, it is missing 2 wheel well opening moldings and all of the body strip chrome that runs the length of car, I have 2 brand new front fender flags , the 396 turbo jet ones as well as a few other new emblems. Comes with radiator, ac condensor and brake booster and anything else located on fire wall. As you can see this car has been disassembled but still has everything around for it. Alot of the hard work on this car is done and it is ready to start takin shape for somebody! I also have a complete assembly manual for 1966 impala that I would gladly throw in with car!! Any questions feel free to contact me by phone or message. You can reach me anytime at 1-715-829-5445 ask for Grant. Good luck bidding!!!!! Can send more pictures if desired and I would be willing to show car in person to anybody close that would want to come look at it. Thanks!!!! Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.
