Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my personal all original 1965 Honda Dream 305. I am not going to go into too much detail i'll let the bike speak for itself. I took the pictures shown here at a weird time during the day which makes it look kind of dull. The bike is the polar opposite of dull. I took one picture with the flash on so you can see how bright the red/chrome is. On a sunny day this dream shines like a new penny :) Please check out the video link below to hear it run.I bought it about a year ago for myself as a birthday present. I looked around for a few months before I found this all original well preserved turnkey red one. It was a southern bike all its life so there aren't the normal rust problems that are found on bikes from the east coast. Over the past year I have put about 1000 trouble free miles on it. I have ridden this bike on highways, back roads, even through New York City. Everywhere I go it turns heads and draws crowds. I can't tell you how many "this was my first bike" stories I have heard. Everything on the bike is original and works. When I say original I mean original. Nothing has ever been painted or touched up. The original chrome is in unbelievable condition. The engine runs great, makes good power, is very quiet, and does not burn or drip a drop of oil. The electric start works great but I always kick start it....for some reason it just seems right to kick start it. The gas tank is pretty clean on the inside, not rusted or coated. It has an inline fuel filter that has stayed super clean through the time I have owned it. Have carried a passenger on it a bunch of times with no problem. The brakes work as good as mechanical drums can. All lights/controls/horn/speedometer/blinkers work as they should. My understanding is that in the US these bikes did not come with blinkers but in other countries they did. At some point someone got all the correct parts to put blinkers on this bike, they were hard to find and not cheap. If you are looking for a trouble free classic to cruise and enjoy this is for you. Two small things I should mention are as follows. #1 - at some point the left muffler had cracked. Someone did a fantastic job welding it and it has never given me a problem. #2- The black plastic knobbed fastener that held the battery cover on the left side vibrated out at some point. I replaced it with a standard 10mm bolt for the time being. I am sure you can find one online. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with this bike, but I've gotten involved in road racing and between that and work, I don't have time for much else. I have set a very reasonable reserve. Please view all pictures and ask all questions before bidding. The bike is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. My name is Ken and I can be reached through email or by telephone at 908-581-3883. If you don't catch me just leave me a message and I will get right back to you. Thanks for reading and god speed. Below is a Youtube link where you can see/hear the bike run. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFSY3stZnis U.S.SHIPPING, PLEASE READ! The bike is located in Whitehouse Station NJ 08889 which is about an hour west of New York City and an hour from Philidelphia. I can offer several shipping options for you to choose from: 1) I will deliver the bike to Forward Air in Newark NJ and load it in one of their containers for a fee of only $100 that will include new ratcheting tie-downs and locks that will be yours to keep. You must make all the arrangements and pay Forward Air their fee before I deliver the bike. You MUST use their container. Please check with them for rates @ WWW.FORWARDAIR.COM 2) There are several transportation services that will pickup and deliver door to door without crating. One that I have used with success is Federal Transport. You may contact them @ WWW.FUNTRANSPORT.COM There is no charge for my assistance with this option. 3) My favorite! You may make your own arrangements and I will assist you anyway I can on this end. This bike can be loaded with ease on to any type of vehicle you send. Again, there will be no charge for my assistance with this option. IMPORTANT INFORMATION, PLEASE READ ALL: Remember, your winning bid is a contract to buy, not to show up, kick the tires and then decide you've changed your mind. I apologize if this sounds harsh but we all know these types of bidders do exist so please don't bid unless you're serious about owning this vehicle. I am not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I'm an enthusiast with a large number of bikes and from time to time I thin out the herd. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the bike, just ask! Please ask any questions you like before bidding. You will be answered quickly and honestly. I will not sugarcoat anything for the sake of a few extra dollars. With all the bikes I own or have owned over the years, I know how disappointing it is when someone over-sells a bikes condition so you may be sure I won't do that to you. I have disclosed and will gladly provide photos of all known defects for your inspection. You are welcome and encouraged to personally inspect and testride the 3 wheeler. Although this bike is sold “as is” and "without warranty", I want you to be happy and I will do anything within reason to me to see that you are. Thank you and good luck! PLEASE NOTE: I do not make "Second Chance Offers" as a result of all the fraud associated with them. If you receive a second chance offer on this bike, please report it to Ebay because it is a FAKE!
