Vehicle Detail
For bid is one of the last Cadillac Sevilles with the 'bustleback' trunk produced from 1980-1985. Very late in the model year 1985, a commemorative edition was made by Cadillac. From what I can gather, only a few hundred were produced. This example is actually a $3879 Elegante upgrade, but with 'Commemorative Edition' badges replacing 'Elegante' badges on the car. The reason I say this, is that only the Elegantes had the Cadillac "Inner Shield" windshield with a two-section plastic layer intended to prevent cuts from splintered glass in an accident, which this car has.The car is Cotillion White with a blue sailcloth (very tough material) roof, with simulated bows and snap downs as a convertible would have. The wire wheel covers have a unique gold center cap with the Cadillac wreath and crest that was exclusive to this Edition. I have never seen gold used on any other year or model of Cadillac for the center caps. There is a custom grill and gold '40's Cadillac style flying Goddess hood ornament also. All badges are in gold as well. The interior is blue leather with white leather inserts in the seating area. The steering wheel has 'Commemorative Edition' on it. The car was sold by Bewley Allen Cadillac in Alhambra, CA and was a CA car from 1985 to 2009. The engine starts instantly and runs smooth and quiet. The transmission does not slip, shifts perfectly, exhaust is in excellent shape. Even the electronic level control for the rear works! Alot of Cadillacs I've seen this doesn't work anymore and people have put air shocks as a replacement. All the power options work properly as they should; the windows go up and down briskly, not slow. The A/C is the original RF-12 and boy does it freeze you out. The radio is original Delco-Bose with cassette player works and sounds great. I've bought new American Classic Wide White Wall tires (2 1/2 inch) and they sure look great on that white car. They have about 300 miles on the tires. I've replaced the windshield wiper switch and replaced a power steering pump that was leaking. That's all I've had to do to the car, it's such an original survivor that with regular maintenance she will run and look great for years to come. The carpets have very small wear, but look great.LOW 64,000 miles on this 25 year old classic! I'm including a continental kit that you can choose to install if you like. There is a picture of the kit laying on the trunk to show what it would look like if want to put it on. I could never decide which way I think the car would look better, so I leave it to the next owner to decide. :) The minor things to mention are:1) The sunvisors are 'lazy' and don't want to stay up as well as they should. The passengers one drops little by little to the half way point. The driver's one droops worse to a full down position. I have been propping them up, until I found replacement visors. 2) The front seats have been re-colored white, because the original owner put blue sheepskin covers on them and the blue dye leeched onto the white seats, so that is noticable that it has been recolored, however there is no wear, cracks, or dry leather problems with the seats at all. 3) On the driver's side armrest, the material is separating from the controls panel a little. Looks like it is just starting, so probably would be easy to fix now before it got worse. (see picture)4) The windshield has a small one-half inch crack where a stone hit it (see picture with white paper and circled area on windshield) 5) The drivers side outside mirror is a little loose, not much, but mentioning it to be complete about every small flaw the car has. It does not rattle or shake as you drive, you wouldn't notice it if you didn't touch it. Just need to take the door panel off and tighten it.6) 2 very small touch ups on the hood from rocks thrown up by other vehicles7) A small ding on the left rear door as shown in a picture Now, you have here a beautiful 25 year old Caddy Seville, and a very unique and rare limited Seville at that! I wish I could keep it, but I have no climate controlled garage anymore to keep it in pristine condition like it deserves. I do have a covered carport at my new house, and a car cover on it to protect it from the elements. Whoever wins this car will really enjoy owning and driving it. My wife and I sure do. Whether you're a guy or girl, you'll get head turns and attention from the opposite sex! My wife really enjoys driving it for this reason, just kidding honey! Payment is $500 down, cash or paypal in 48 hours, with the balance due within one week in cash only. Shipping/transportation is the buyer's responsibility. I am about 50 miles away from St. Louis Int'l Airport, a few miles away from the Alton, IL Amtrak station, plus near bus lines also, so I can pick you up if you choose to arrive one of these ways.
