Vehicle Detail
This is a NO Reserve auction. High bidder will take it! You are bidding on a nice 1973 Dodge Challenger project car body. The car is an original 318 car with a red exterior and a black interior. Nice color combinations.I purchased this car about a year or so ago to do a 70 Challenger clone but was lucky enough a few weeks ago to pick up a true 70 Challenger that I will be doing for myself, so I will not be needing the 73. This 73 Challenger is an extremly nice solid base to build whatever you want from it. As you will see in the pictures the interior floor board is about as solid as an EBody comes with no rot or signs of any patchwork. Previous owner was smart enough to store this car properly by pulling out all the floor plugs and carpeting to allow the car to breathe and keep it from structurally rotting. I have included 4 pictures of the floorboard with the carpeting out to show how nice and solid the floor really is! Front torsion bar crossmember as you will also see is nice and solid along with the cowl, firewall and front inner fenders/wheelhousing area. Engine compartment as you can see is also in nice solid condition.Trunk floor has some small pinholes and light surface rust but is very repairable if so desire. Rear framerails are solid with some minor swelling at the typical leaf spring area as shown in the pictures, but not bad by no means. The previous owner I got the car from started to do some disassembly as he was preparing to do the restoration on the car. The right 1/4 panel skin was cut off and some misc. items were removed but that's about as far as he got. Over the years that the previous owner said he had tried to preserve as much as he could by spraying black primer as he seen fit. From what I see on the body itself the car will of course need a right 1/4 panel skin, left and right trunk dropoffs, left 1/4 panel lower rear patch panel (possibly left 1/4 skin may be needed). The Left door and fender look to be solid. Hood has some pinholes along the rear part of the hood on the top. Right fender also looks to be solid but shows some previous dent repair above the splash guard area that will need rerepaired. Right door has some rot on the front and rear outside corners of the door in the typical Challenger door area. There is some primered over rust around the front and back glass. I am including in the auction as shown in the pictures a NEW trunk lid. I also just put on 4 brand NEW tires as the ones on the car were all flat, bald and dry rotted. Nothing fancy but are brand new. On the interior, you will need carpet, dash cap, radio, center console and headliner. As you see there is a very old 70's style pleated seats in the car. They are not all torn up and can actually be used. The insert of the seats is black but the pictures make them look more of a grey. I am selling the car with NO ENGINE. The one shown in the pictures is a locked up 383 that I dropped in there to get out of my way for the time being. I will be pulling that back out. Once again so there is no confusion, the car is sold WITHOUT the engine. I do have a 318 I can make available to the winning bidder at an additional cost if they would like to put a 318 back in. It is a complete running 318 with transmission out of a 1970 Mopar. I hope I covered it all. If you have any other questions or concerns that I may have missed, please Email me. Bottom line on the car is that it is a nice structurally solid car that will save you a lot of time and money on your build as you will not need to replace any frame rails, floorboards, cowl or inner fender. In all actuality you can have the bodywork done on this car in a reasonable amount of time and not spend a lot for replacement panels. I do have the car for sale locally and your more than welcome to make arrangements to come look at the car. Vehicle can be seen at Muscle Car Pit Stop in Beaver Falls, Pa. I am asking for a 1,000.00 non refundable deposit within 7 days of the auctions end in the form of a cashiers check or money order. Balance due within 30 days of auctions end in the form of Cash, cashiers check or money order. Car will NOT be released until all funds cleared my bank. Vehicle to be picked up within 30 days or deposit will be forfeited and car will be relisted. Winning bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements and all costs associated with shipping of the vehicle. I have a free and clear PA title in my name for the car. If you have excessive negative feedback or new user please Email me before bidding. I'm tired of non-paying bidders/winners. I will cancel your bid.
