1972 Ford F-250 Highboy Original Red & White Ford manual 4 speed pickup with 88,645 miles. I have owned this truck since it was 6 months old. It has had good care and has been serviced regularly. I have decided to sell this truck because it has only been driven 100-200 miles per year for the last 15 years. The truck originally came with a 360 engine. In 1985, I put in a 390 engine to gain 100 more HP. I still have the original 360 engine complete from pan to air cleaner, original motorcraft 2 barrel carb, heads, intake, original exhaust manifolds. I have since acquired the crankshaft and rods to make the original 360 engine into a 390 engine if the new owner wants to go that route. The 360 engine was not blown up, I just wanted more horsepower and that was the reason for the transplant. The original engine and parts will go with the truck. The 390 engine that is now in the truck still runs very well, (even after sitting for several months, starts right up), does not burn or use oil. It has a Holley four barrel on the original Ford 390 4 barrel cast iron intake. The 390 engine currently has hooker headers that are inside the frame, they are in pretty good shape and not burnt through. Description of the truck: Exterior: truck has never been in an accident, not minor or major, needs a paint job, has rust on the bottom of front fenders, driver side floor and along the sides of the box. The inside of the box is pretty beat up but does not have rust. Windows: Brand new tinted windshield, wing vents and side windows are not broken and still work. Has sliding back glass. I have the original back glass that came from the factory, and it is not broken. Interior: Dash is cracked, seat will need re-upholstery, side door panels are not torn and are in excellent conditon. Weather stripping not torn or missing. Floor mat needs to be replaced. Chrome/Trim: Nothing missing and is straight including the front bumper and rear bumper. Wheels/Tires: Truck came with 8 hole 16 inch split rims, all five included with truck, has the original spare that is now on the truck which is still like new. The other four tires will have to be replaced because of dry rot. Truck will come with 5 of the later Ford 8 hole non- split 16 X 6 rims. Gauges/Instruments/controls: all gauges work including the speedometer, heater works(new heater core), original pushbutton AM radio works, speaker sounds rough. Drivetrain: all original, no leaks, nothing broken. 3 gas tanks (one behind front seat and two side tanks). Brakes: New brake shoes on the front approximately 1000 miles ago. Doesn't pull or grab, truck has factory power brakes. Steering: Steering is tight and runs straight down the road without wandering. Truck DOES NOT have power steering, never did. Lights: All lights work on the truck. Underneath: This IS NOT a rust free Truck, There is rust at the bottom of the front fenders, drivers side floor pan, back corners of the cab, please take a look at the pictures. Underhood: all stock except the engine, good radiator, original jack, inter fender panels have rust at the hinges. I have two original non-rusted used inter fender panels that will go with the truck. I have given my best and honest description of this truck. I feel that if this truck had good tires you could drive it to anywhere in the United States. I suggest to anyone interested in this truck to have an independent inspection done.
