The Ford FPIU is an all time AWD 3.7L naturally aspirated platform that has a nupgraded cooling system, better charging system, and performance tuning over the civilian models. The all time AWD is not available in any of the civilian versions. The interior has a driver's power seat, front cloth, and 2nd and 3rd row vinyl and leather seats, typical of the police interceptors. Due to the interceptors not usually having a 3rd row, the 2nd row seats only fold flat, not forward. Also because of the 3rd row seats, the spare tire is removed. This Explorer was otaled by CHP for minor front end damage. I replaced the front bumper, hood, right fender and both headlights using all Ford parts from the dealership. I also repaired the right A-pillar where the spot light was located. I decided to paint the entire thing Deep Impact Blue, a 2016 Mustang color. I removed all the glass and rubber, and had it professionally painted. Then I installed a civilian center console and the leather 3rd row seats with the seatbelts. The car is basically brand new.
