Vehicle Detail

This vehicle belonged to my long-time neighbor, who was quite ill and left it in his garage for a number of years. I purchased it when he moved into a nursing home about 9 months ago, with the intention of getting it road-worthy again. But alas, I have not put a single dollar or hour into it, and with the new year here, I realize I need to pass it to someone who will in fact do something with this magnificent vehicle. It has a lot of issues, and needs a lot of attention: It won't start because while it was sitting in his garage all those years, mice chewed through some ignition wires -- no other wires, just the ignition wiring harness (smart mice!) (see photo) The mice also chewed through the plastic windshield wiper fluid tank, so that'll need to be replaced as well (see photos) It smells of mildew, and needs to be bombed and scrubbed all the way down. We get a lot of wet weather here in Western North Carolina, and those conditions permeated the interior of the vehicle, including the trunk. All of the interior panels (door panels, console, etc.) are discolored -- I'm assuming from the conditions in the vehicle (see photos) The left side of the hood does not appear to close flush: it closes, but there's a small 1/2" gap on that side (see photo) Apart from those (albeit major) issues, the vehicle is in good standing: I have the key, I have a clean title on it, the tires and rims are in good condition, the floor mats are intact, the leather looks good, the door handles and latches and controls all work, and everything is there/intact. Based on my familiarity with the owner and the car, I do believe it will start with a new ignition wiring harness and a new battery. From there, someone will have to deal with permeating mildew presence and smell, the wiper fluid tank, and whatever other issues I'm not aware of, before tackling the discoloration of the panels (replacements at a scrap yard perhaps). And that's what I know. If I only I could've gotten to this car 6 years ago.... Lastly, I didn't clean the car up to make it look like something more or different than what it is. It's been sitting in my driveway for 9 months, and before that it'd been sitting in my neighbor's garage for probably about 5 years. So I would just view this as a barn find, which is how I'm advertising/listing it. Thanks. Cheers.
