Vehicle Detail
I bought this bike a over a year ago thinking I would eventually restore it. The bike was dirty, but looked reasonably original and complete. I was pleased to learn that it had been stored properly. The tank and carbs had been drained and fogged. I started to clean it up last month and start taking an inventory of how much money I was gonna have to send to Mr. Miller in Connecticut for the parts I would need -- when I realized how nice this bike was under the crud. My business involves Vapor Honing and soda blasting, and it was great fun bringing these 49 year old parts back to life. I hate when people list a bike and tell you everything that was done without showing you, so I took pics of things as I went to show you how nice this thing really is-- see the pictures of the back of the mufflers, (no rust), the inside of the brake hub, the spokes and nipples, the carbs, (ultrasonic cleaned). Everything is still neat, tidy, and sound. All the electrical systems work 100% The brake shoes are like new front and rear. The engine case covers are intact with no repairs. As you can see in the pics, the vapor honing leaves a really nice satin finish on the outer engine components. I applied ACF50 to protect them. If you prefer a polished look, go for it-- vapor honing is the best prep for that. The seat is original including the foam and cover. Heck, almost everything is original as far as I can tell- paint, spokes, wheels, bars, cables, lights, petcock. Check the foot peg rubbers! Worn flat from 29,000 miles on them--but still intact. I had to replace the trim rings on the speedo/tach because one was missing, but I couldn't see replacing the unit--it works fine and is original. All of the lights work including the lamps in the speedo/tach. Horn too. Original key with the original ignition switch. Fork seals are good. Battery is brand new. I did replace a few things however, including the rubber air box boot and the rubber intake manifolds,( NOS Suzuki parts from the aforementioned Mr. Miller). The originals will come with the bike if you want them. The taillight lens is new. The engine side cover bolts are not original. Please note that the front fender has some damage on the front edge. The tank has a few very minor dings, (see pics). Gas cap is almost perfect. The inside of the gas tank is pristine--see pic. The engine runs fine and transmission shifts nicely up and down. No mechanical issues that I am aware of. It starts easily and runs/shifts well. Bidders with less than 10 eBay transactions MUST contact me BEFORE bidding or I will cancel your bid. If you don't contact me and bid anyway I will assume you are a sports bidding loser and I'm really sick of that--so I make you go away. Buyers must make their own shipping arrangements, at their expense, and buyers assume full responsibility for any issues. The bike is prepped for shipping with no fluids on board except fork oil and the new battery. I will prep the bike for shipping including crating if need be for a fee. I will accept PayPal for final payment if that's easier for you with a 3% fee added to the winning bid amount. This is a no reserve auction. Oh -- please note--this is a 49 year old bike. The warranty has expired. Thanks! On Dec-30-18 at 06:48:28 PST, seller added the following information: The listing incorrectly shows that I will only sell to US buyers. Not the case. I will sell internationally, but you MUST have over 10 eBay transactions without issues, and/or you need to contact me first. So if this is you and you plan to bid during the end of auction flurry that inevitably occurs, please contact me early so you are not blocked from bidding. Some of you have already done this--and thank you! Also, the listing shows that I accept credit cards for payment. I do not accept credit cards or Harley parts as payment. I have been asked about the tires. When I buy a bike here on eBay, I always plan on replacing the tires/tubes on a bike that I can't inspect in person. The tires are not that expensive, and when you replace the tires and tubes that are new, correct, and safe-- you just plain feel better. I didn't replace them before listing it because everybody has their own favorite flavor tire. I can arrange for that if you choose. I'm not cheap but I am easy. We can discuss it.
