Vehicle Detail
Finished in black, this car’s paint and trim are in overall good order, but there are some small chips here and there. All of the windows are clear and crack-free, and the lights are haze-free and look great. This limo rolls on wide whitewalls mounted on 16-inch wheels with factory wheel covers. All of its body panels are solid and straight, including the standard running boards. The cargo area is in good order and includes a full-sized spare tire. The engine bay is tidy and the re-chromed bumpers look great. The original fuel pump is on the car but there is also an electric in line pump installed for faster startups. Other than the electric fuel pump this car is all original. The exhaust is in great shape and this car runs super quiet.Powered by Cadillac’s 346 CID 7.0 liter “L-Head” 8 cylinder engine. It has a cast iron block and head, three main bearings, and hydraulic lifters. This engine produces 150 hp @ 3,400 rpm. It has an original automatic 4-speed transmission. The rear is fitted with a Hotchkiss semi-floating axle with hypoid gears. The Fleetwood Series 75 was the “Cadillac of Cadillac’s.”. Power hydraulic braking at all four wheels was standard. $3,295 went a long way in 1941, that was the base price of the Series 75 Touring Imperial. Only 757 of these were built. Inside, the chauffeur’s section is in very good overall condition with its freshly redone brown real leather bench seat. The carpet is in good order, but show a little wear by the accelerator pedal. The headliner is in perfect condition and really looks nice. The car’s instrument panel looks fabulous, while the original, two-spoke steering wheel is present and in new condition. The speedometer, fuel and temperature gauges are all functioning properly. The mirror glass and shift lever are in good order and there’s a factory AM radio and heater that works well. On the other side of the functioning power divider glass, the tan mohair rear upholstery has been done as part of this full restoration and looks fabulous! The fold down jump seats are in excellent condition and the rear seat does have a fold away full-width footrest. The window frames and other rear trim pieces are finished in burled wood, lending some warmth to the cabin. A clock is embedded in the front seat back so no one has to bother the driver for the time during the journey. The front and rear bumpers and bumper guards were re-chromed as well as the hood ornament and center chrome strip on hood and lots of this cars other trim. The front windshield interior chrome is re-chromed as is the chrome trim on both front doors Brakes were done by previous owner as well as front sway bar stabilizers. Brand new six volt battery. This limousine would make a fine candidate to place into wedding limo service or long Sunday drives in the country or on tours. It is ready for its next caretaker to enjoy and admire it.
