Vehicle Detail
1971 Buick GS 455 Stage1 needing a total restoration. Code 62 rare one year only color, Bittersweet Mist, black bucket seat interior, black vinyl top, air conditioning, power steering, power disc brakes and WP code 15 X 7 Rallye wheels. 1 of 801 hard top Stage 1's built in 1971, 1 of 687 with the automatic transmission. I have known about this car for over 25 years, unfortunately it sat outside for all that time so there is rust in all the normal areas, floor pan, under the back seat, trunk, under the battery tray, lower passenger side front fender, both lower rear fenders. The frame has surface rust and appears to be in good shape. The cowl and A pillars are in good shape as well as the rear panel between the back window and the trunk. Even the rear corners at the bottom of the back glass are very good. Original Parts Group has ALL the patch panels available to fix this car on sale right now. Currently the car does not run. There is a 1970 SF code Buick 455 in the car with no carburetor and a BT code Turbo 400 transmission. The original 10 bolt posi with 3.42 gears is still in the car. The front disc brakes are missing and drum brakes have been installed. There is no radiator, condenser, compressor, fan shroud or air cleaner. The grills in the hood scoops are either 1970 or 1972 also missing is the spare and jack as well as 3 center caps. The paint is original, the sheet metal is original, the glass and interior are all original. I installed four brand new BF Goodrich Radial TA tires, 245/60R15. The previous owner received a 1971 TS code 455 Stage 1 block and two 1971 casting Stage 1 heads. He was told they were the original engine parts from the car. However the vin on the TS code block does not match the VIN on the car. Could the wrong engine have been installed in this car during the GM strike, who knows? Along with the car the winning bidder will receive the TS code block, 3 1971 casting stage 1 heads, 1 standard 455 head and 3 intake manifolds. All together there will be two blocks, 6 heads and 4 intake manifolds. I have additional pictures if you send me your email address I will be glad to send them to you. This car will need to be towed at buyers expense. I prefer payment to be cash. I have a clear title in my name. Please feel free to make an appointment to come see the car before bidding and PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. On Oct-31-18 at 11:55:30 PDT, seller added the following information:
