DRASTIC PRICE REDUCTION! This custom four-door CJ5 is the only CJ5 of this type on Earth. CJ5X2: 1973 CJ5 "X2" (I call it X2 because it's made from 2 CJ5s).I have had 3 deals fall through on this Jeep and am giving it another try. I will just politely ask that you refrain from bidding if you have a spouse that will prevent you from following through or if you are unable to transport the Jeep or to pay for it. I have lowered the price drastically as i am moving and won't have space for it anymore. Thanks! This Jeep was a daily driver for almost 3 years in Texas after being built in 2009. Then it moved to NJ where it has lived in a garage and gotten only occasional use in the summers - never for four-wheeling. It draws a crowd everywhere you go. You can't buy gas or go into Home Depot without someone stopping you to talk about it. The four-wheel-drive works fine. The roll cage was extended in the rear so that two adults can stand up in the bed and be supported by the cage. The second row of seats has plenty of leg room for two adults. It is also kid friendly. It has been a kid transport since built, and kids love to ride in it. Will easily accommodate additional jump seats in the back for upto 4 additional passengers (8 total passengers). I was considering the Little Passengers jump seats made for JKs or regular CJ back seats.Pics are from 8/17/18. I took extra effort to show the worst parts. I also included 2 pictures from the build. I added a video with more content below. Contact me for more. The Jeep was built using all CJ5 parts. The front door is similar to CJ7 doors. The rear door is more like CJ5 doors. The bed is extended to the length of a CJ6 or CJ8 Scrambler. The frame is stretched 36 inches in the middle and 14 inches behind the rear axle. The frame was boxed from the front to the rear spring perches. It has Dana 30 and Dana 44 axles (both with differentials). The transfer case is a Dana 20. The transmission is a 3 speed (I believe it is a T150). The engine is a very powerful AMC 360 from a 1972 Wagoneer. It was rebuilt about 20,000 miles ago. It was bored over. The crank was turned. It got all new bearings, new pistons, new valve guides, and hardened seats. It has an RV cam, an Edelbrock SP2P low rise dual plane intake, and a Holley Street Avenger 570cfm double pumper carburetor. - Skip White electronic ignition/distributor. - Warn 8274 Winch. - Heavy duty steel front fenders. (Matching Rescue Green CJ5 OEM fenders also included.) - Rear corner guards. - All new floors (2009).- Rescue Green paint (2009 Wrangler color)- Bestop seats- Aluminum Outlaw 1 Wheels- Advance Adapter Windshield clamps- Mile Marker locking hubs- Seat belts new in 2009- Super thick aluminum radiator, with proper cowl and extra electric fan- Power steering- Front disk brakes- 20-gallon gas tank from an 86 CJ7- The leaf springs were upgraded to the wider springs from a 76 model CJ7- The tub and bed have bed liner throughout.- Front sway bar with new rod ends and bushings.- Includes primitive top and doors which haven't been used since 2012. The tires are 33 10.50 15 BFG Mud T/A KM2. The fronts have about 10k miles on them and the rears have about 5k. I have no idea how many miles are on the Jeep. It has about 20k since built in 2009. Almost everything was replaced at that time. Includes primitive top and doors which haven't been used since 2012. New since 2012 (added by current owner): Front HD Steel FendersOptimus BatteryElectronic DistributorAnti Sway BarWarn 8274 Winch (fastest line pull of any winch)Auxiliary Electric FanWindshield ClampsVolt Meter/12V/USB chargerNew AlternatorNew Gear Reduction High Torque Starter Keyless Start (and I mean literally keyless. There is a toggle swithch for the ignition and a push button for the starter.)Mile Marker Locking Hubs The Build: - The Jeep was built by a customizing shop in Texas.- Started with two 73 CJ5s and two CJ5 rolling chassis.- The sides were cut off of the two bodies and away from the firewall. Then the body sides were pieced together on the bench and welded into shape.- The front doors are made from the front half of CJ5 doors where they meet the firewall.- The floors, transmission tunnel, and wheel tubs were made from scratch. They are all made from 18 gauge sheet steel including rolled beads.- The floor supports and associated hat channel are sheet metal welded it to the floor.- The underside and floors all got two coats of Tractor Supply implement paint before going to the body shop.- The frame was made by cutting the two in half and joining them in the middle.- Body work and paint was professionally done by a separate shop. - The way that the body was tied down caused it to bend just above the LR fender well and put a wrinkle in the body and paint. See pics.- The roll cage with grab bars is made from schedule 40 steel tubing bent with a hydraulic pipe bender and the same paint used on the floors. Negative issues: - Normal dings and rock chips and scratches that you would expect from a driver. There is one good dent in the left rear fender well and some paint issues with clear coat. See pics. - Some minimal rust on tailgate and where scratches have exposed metal. - The horn and speedometer are not hooked up. - It will pop out of reverse, but backing up slowly prevents it from happening. - The transfer case shifter could use new bushings, requiring extra force to shift, but it shifts fine for me, so I don't worry about it. - Top and doors need recovering.
