**NO RESERVE** BID TO OWN!! READ ENTIRE LISTING!! GOOD LUCK!!! 1999 SAAB 9-3 CONVERTIBLE, 4 CYL TURBO, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 185K MILES, Clean title in hand, I am 2nd owner This car is driven almost daily in the summer. It is far from perfect. If you have some knowledge about cars and dash lights don’t scare you keep reading… If that description gives you anxiety, please do not bid. I sell honestly on ebay. Check my feedback. Please read full description before bidding. This is a running, driving registered vehicle. It has never left me stranded but like all Saabs it has plenty of small annoying glitches. I am able to ignore them because they pose no immediate threat. I would advise any buyer that it is not worth chasing down all of these little items but that’s just my opinion. I bought this car from my friend’s mother 3 years ago. She was the original owner and it was her only car. 175k miles were driven by an adult woman and the car was never abused and always maintained. Car does not smoke, has good oil pressure and shifts fine. Notable repairs -Complete new top and hydraulic hoses 5 years ago, over 2k spent. (See below for issue with top) - New tie rods and ball joints, 4 new tires, rear pads (last year) - New heater box coolant hoses and fluid - Oil change last week -spark plugs last year -New tires with under 5000 miles of wear This is a turbo car, with sport mode and it is very fun to drive. I bought it for kicks and have enjoyed some summer commuting and I use it as a backup car. Since I’ve been doing basic repairs and maintenance I realize that I should be saving money, not spending it on this car, so I’m ready to sell. All lights work, interior is clean and everything is stock. Has heated seats, power windows and power driver’s seat. Has a “winter mode too” whatever that means…If I didn’t mention something not working below, then it works… These cars cut the turbo if you push it too hard, because they do not have a blow off valve. So the hesitation that occurs if you really get on it is normal (I’ve been told). I have never had a turbo car before so to me it still feels strange. It only happens if boost meter hits the red but that is fairly easy to achieve. Basically I’m not 100% sure if this is normal operation or not. It has never caused any other issue that I know of. Items not working and random aggravations: (nothing prevents car from driving) If you have ability to come see car or want to get it checked out, I would be glad to accommodate Power Top, stopped working: I raise and lower manually. All signs point to faulty micro switch on “5th bow of top” I have many spare parts that may fix this if you take the time to track it down. (Again almost entire system was rebuilt) Google this to checkout repair process. You just need to commit to tracking down the problem or pay someone to do so. (I won’t be doing either) Air bag light on, as well as caution warning light which goes on with any dash light. I bought car like this. It was scanned and I was told it is an “Air bag Fault” It will not clear. I had no intentions of fixing it. I do not know what the fault means. I just know it doesn’t affect the cars ability to drive. Check engine light comes on once in a while then clears by itself. Had car scanned for this as well? Nothing found. I also bought car like this. It will come on again, so please assume it will be lit. I have no issue to report. A/C does work however it blows fuse. According to my mechanic it needs a new fan clutch. Replace that and you get cold a/c. Fuse is pulled for now. Power steering leaks: it’s a slow leak from a low pressure line or canister. This is the only item I would fix if keeping. The rack is dry, it is a hose leaking. You do have to add fluid. I have some JB weld on the lower portion of the reservoir because I thought the leak was coming from there. I have complete spare reservoir. I drive the car and just add fluid when it needs it. It leaves smalls drips on the driveway over time, not puddles. The hood and trunk are spray painted flat black. They were both badly oxidized so I painted them. It is, what it is. Pictures do not show the difference well. Please know you will see flat back spray painted panels in person. It looks exactly like you’d expect. Power antenna does not go down. No idea why. I worked until recently. Motor makes noise as if it wants to move. Radio works fine. CD player has trouble, the one time I tried it. I just use an Ipod for music. Some of the illuminating dash lights bulbs are out. You can still see everything but a couple dim areas. The bulbs are a royal pain to change because it’s a Saab. Research online for details. You can see all gauges in dark, just dim areas. Small plastic insert around movement of shifter is cracked Car has an information screen that will annoy you every day: This car is never happy. Even if the battery in your key fob is low it will show a warning on the screen in the middle of the dash. Mine will say “finish soft top motion” most of the time. I unplugged the little speaker that chimed every 10 seconds. Unfortunately I cannot find a way to just clear the warning other than a hammer. Car comes with spare parts: Everything pulled from a 1996 parts car 4 Saab 5 spoke wheels from a 1996 9-3. The current tires will not fit these rims. You will need new tires to use them or you can just sell them. Spare steering wheel airbag, power steering reservoir, convertible top switches, top pump, canopy motor, and misc, ECU’s from parts car, misc wiring, and trim pieces, assorted nuts and bolts. This car has no guarantees. It could go another 100k or blow up tomorrow. I would never say that I can predict the future. That being said I would drive the car on a 500 miles trip tomorrow without concern. It is an AS IS sale. Questions and inspections welcome. Check my feedback; I have sold other cars with no issues.
