Vehicle Detail
My father bought this car new when he was 91, and was driven around Washington DC where he lived. He left it to me when he passed away at 96, and it’s had modest use since then. The car is in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition and is a pleasure to drive. I’m selling it because I’m long retired myself and have too many cars for the little driving that I still do. (For this reason, I’m also selling my 2004 Audi A6 wagon and my 2000 Aston Martin DB7 convertible.) In anticipation of offering this BMW for sale, I had the brakes completely redone (new discs, linings, etc.) and a set of new tires installed. The carpets were replaced a few years ago as was the windshield. The car has never been in an accident, although it had one colorful episode in its history: one New Year’s night a couple of years ago, some bonehead stole it from our driveway, where it was invisible to the street almost a quarter of a mile away, and damaged the wheel rims (curbs? Potholes?). The car was found an hour north of here and we were very happy to get it back. One of the many reasons that we like this car so much is that it’s so exceptionally comfortable. Unlike these new cars with low profile tires that reflect every blip in the pavement, and so vulnerable to rim damage, this car rides on big tires that are a real pleasure. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or to make an appoint to inspect the car.
